Depends who you talk to. On paper, it should be able to handle it, but I personally won't run Sandy chips past 1.375.

I'm with Paulieg on it.. There really isn't a reason to go above 4.5 which should be achieved at 1.375 or below. Anything more, is just to play around with, or see how the chip can go.

Agreed Intel says up to 1.5v..... But these are 32nm parts where voltage is more dangerous then heat. I would say there is really no reason (Accept benchmarking) to go above 4.5GHZ. But some people have already been running their CPU's at over 1.42 for quite some time now. So I think it is dependent on the chip. If your cooling is up to par.... and you are not noticing any weird degradation in a couple weeks you will probably be fine. So leave it if money isn't a issue and you aren't worried if you burn it out. Otherwise try for 4.6 Ghz and see where those voltages take you.

i run my 2500k at 1.250~1.272v according to CPU-Z at 4300mhz (4290mhz) i run that 24-7 i dunno if i can do more i haven't tested that much on my ECS P67H2-A board.

personally I don't mind running it on higher voltages with LLC off and dynamic voltages, boot voltage for mine with HT off is around 1.42 as well but I rarely see that voltage in CPU-Z because it's load voltage is around 1.368 and when it idles it lowers along with the clock down to 1.6ghz at 1.212v .. but hey if it happens to degrade or burn out or what not it'll at least give me an excuse to play with a newer cpu :D

hi thx for repaly ,well my motherboard dosent have LLC settings yea i know strange is a asrock pro3-se ! Well in prime and itb i hit max 1.416v in cpuz range is 1.392-1.416v. And in games like Bf3 it was max 1.392 also at idle at 1.6 ghz is 0.848v, in other apps is aroud 1.375-1.384v.
Also i dont have a fix voltage option only offset mod .

I love offset mode! It saves power and i don't think i'll let my CPU burn with constant high volts 24/7 even in idle.

btw, have you tried to update your BIOS in order to see if there is more options?

oh... bad luck then :/
But at least it has Spread Spectrum settings? Because that is very important, i forgot to disable it once and at 1.21v (in BIOS with offset mode) it would spike to 1.37v when running some stress / games. Disabling it did the trick!

SB is very resistent to degradation. The few reports of it I suspect are from people who don't have a full grasp on how to stress test with these chips. This will give you a good idea http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?271284-Share-your-degradation-reports-on-the-2500K-2600K

People have been running these at insane volts since launch with no issues.

I find your statement wierd, because in the link you provided, the guy trying to understand how his CPU degraded stated this:

It degraded from 1.236v to 1.260v (for 4.5 ghz) due to Prime and game tests (black ops/Bad company 2) at 5 ghz 1.404-1.440v. The CPU had previously been a rock at 1.236v at 4.5 ghz as long as I never went to 5 ghz. And 1.404v used to be stable at 5 ghz, now it needs 1.440-1.452v, and this affected the lower overclocks also.

That said, and from almost every post i see people advising about volts, stay away from 1.36+ for 24/7. You can play a little bit with some high volts, just don't do it 24/7 to be in the safe side. But... you know... it's up to you to decide

Best luck friend!

I would make sure the peak is UNDER 1.4V, and if possible, 1.38V, but maybe I'm overcautious

i wouldn't do it.i'd either figure how to get more cooling so i could use lower voltage or get a better cpu

Personally 1.45 is as high as I am willing to go, though it is nice having a close to golden chip such as mine. I do 5.0 @ 1.375v in bios.
