Windows 8 build 8172 Screenshots Emerge

what a shitty design... This is a step back from 7. Typical windows fail.

They should copy more from apple and linux UI, they would fail less.

Oh hell no. And they would get sued by Apple the second they release it

You cannot judge an OS only after a couple of screenshots. Let's wait for some reviews before jumping to conclusions. If you can disable that Metro crap, and if is faster and loads also faster than Win 7, than it will be a success. If is the same or worst it will be another Windows ME.:ohwell:

This is to be expected, really. It seems as if Microsoft releases a killer OS then its followed up by a shitty one. Microsoft should allow people to choose the look and feel of Windows 8. Not everyone likes an OS that's geared towards tablets.

"If it's not broke, DONT FIX IT"

that is the most screenshots of W8 I have seen yet and and so far I am not a fan. I also agree that the task manager looked good but that was it. everything else looked dumbed down

I love W7 and the only reason I might switch to W8 is if I can customize the look and feel to resemble W7 while having the added benefits of the supposed robust platform improvements

I just wish there was an OS as open source as Linux with the simplicity and look/feel of windows that can actually run PC games without using WINE.

me wants !!!!!!!!!
but not that metro thingie:P

Why does it seem they are trying so hard to make the PC something it isn't?

"If it's not broke, DONT FIX IT"

This implies that anything can be perfect, and that is impossible. Windows XP was fine but now I don't like it, Win98 SE was good but not anymore. Etc.

If it's not broke, DONT FIX IT -GoFigureItOut

If it's not broke, break it, then sell the broken pieces as new features -Microsoft

Then repair those features in Windows 9 to again sell them as something new.

Genius.

That process is called innovation. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss. If you miss Windows 98SE that much (because it wasn't that broken, neither was XP or 2K) just go back to it.

Windows 2000 doesnt support quad cores. (unless its the server edition)

No that's called darts. I've played it at bars before. :toast: MS "innovation" (theft) created Windows. MS marketing has their hands in the soup now. Better better more more. How shiny do they think they can polish this terd before they burn through the clear coat? There are very few products out there that actually focus on quality first. Quality is always second to profit. That's the only reason they have to release another version at this point.

I'm not sure I understand your point here.

It's how the world works. This is true for pretty much everything at this point.

I will most likely stick with Win7 for as long as I stuck with xp. ;)

..besides, I finally got comfortably dialed into 7 and simply wont switch so quickly.

agree, except win 8 offers more than win7 could handle ;)

Well it might look like a fail but how does it feel?

I like it, especially the changes under the hood to increase speed and reduce bloat. The only thing I don't like is Metro. I will be using a faux start button in my start bar or maybe I will use Rainmeter instead.

Windows 8 is terrible, every change they have made is bad! They should have left everything the same as Window 7.

There's something called Windows 7, this is what you want.. and when you hear any thing more than 7; like Windows 8... then just ignore and don't upgrade. this will fully satisfy your needs

for the rest of us... well.. continue reading
