I was wondering when the last time I restarted my computer, I generally never shut it down, so I checked my system boot time. Looks like it was Feb. 25 at 10:49 PM. How's about you?

Today, but only because of stupid battlelog/origin problems. Otherwise maybe 2-3 times a month. Mostly due to tinkering, etc.

I think I installed some updates on that date. Usually it's a lot longer. Though I cheat since I'm on a VM that only suspends when the host reboots. (SSH>RDP machine at home from work) The actual desktop at home is shut down when not in use.

This morning, and for some reason the computer decided overnight that she didn't like the settings in the bios which she was happy with last night; so halfway through booting it just stopped and I had to press the power button again. EDIT: ignore my system specs.

I don't bother turning off my PC unless for updates or I do it by mistake now a days. Reason is, I found out that standby (s3 or something) only takes around 3-4 watts?! I mean that's almost nothing. I would rather use the watts and get near instant resume then bother waiting for a boot and shutdown every day.

My Asus P6T SE has the cold-boot bug so I try my damnedest to avoid turning it off. Fortunately restarting after installing programs and stuff doesn't mess anything up...

I use to do that, but now that I have an SSD, there is no reason not to shut it off. Hell sometimes I shut it off during lunch time, it takes only a few seconds to reach desktop...

By the way, ESET Smart Security blocks some images from this page that are hosted at http://bambooz.pytalhost.net It seems to want to say that's a dangerous address...

If it at work (I stayed there during the week days and went home for the weekends), every 12 hours since it's also the time they switched generators.

At home I usually forget to turn it off. Last week I spent most of my time away from work so the PC is left on for almost the whole week. Same for this week.

I blame the i5 2500K and GTX570 combo. My PC is so quite now compared when I was using a Q6600 and an HD5850 (with a damaged fan) that I forget it was on at all.

I have a question that have been bugging me for years : Just so happens my work place is powered by two powerful electrical generators. Blackouts tend to happen now and then (regularly now, one of them is damaged) during PC usage.

Will there any kind of potential damage to the PSU or the PC as whole due to constant blackouts? I don't have a blackout buster, just an automatic voltage regulator that I bought in...2006 (hmm, maybe I should get one). With my new PC build I've been very careful to turn it off before the shutdown time and at night (the heat and LED tend to attract bugs) but I am curious.
