Hi yall,
So I have boiled down to choosing the 6450 and GT430 for my HTPC rig. Although both support HD Audio, which is my main concern, I am having trouble picking both because the 6450 has no problem with decoding HD Audio. Whereas, from the GT430, from the reviews I read, have lots of problem. The GT430 clearly wins in the benchmarking area, but it fails in the HD audio bitstreaming department. The 6450 also has UVD3 too. I don't really care about the fps, as its for a HTPC rig, but I might one day want to game a bit, so my question is, does the GT430 have trouble with bitstreaming HD Audio to the receiver? Which one should I get? Both have its pros and cons and I just wanted to get some opinions on which one will be better for my purpose.

Thanks

I've read about the HD audio problems,i think it could be a codec problem or something.

Do you have a budget range for the card? you can consider other cards like the GT440 or HD6570, they have better performance and are closely priced

Hmmm money can be a problem too, most of the cards i found were between 45$~70$ range.

if it has to be the cards you suggested personally i'd choose the GT430, if you're still concerned about the bit streaming problem i did a further research and found this guy with the problem

i think you'll be fine as it looks to me that its most likely to be a software problem like windows, codecs or even the driver

Yeah, I saw that too that is why I'm on the fence with the 430. I think I just found a 6450 for $20, might as well get that. Thanks for your help. I guess I shouldn't game on this rig.
