Noctua Unveils Noise-Canceling Fan, and More Innovations at Computex

Hey RM, I got with my rep to see what the final plan was all about straight from the horses mouth if you will. Here is what I was given:

So it seems the plan it to increase performance while not moving the noise levels, win-win to me:D

Thanks!
Now to wait and see what actually gets released:roll:

Noctua's are not the best in terms of cooling or price. But they do excel in low rpm use. I simply can't get the Gentle Typhoons to run as quiet as Noctuas do at <850rpm. And the cooling performance is still ok although not as good as GT's.

This, this, and this.

I bought 1 each of the more-touted 120-140 fans not long ago. When it comes right down to it, I prefer the Noctua fans running at low rpm. They are dead silent from where I sit. Because in reality, a small amount of extra airflow (which the typhoon is certainly a champ) just ain't worth the noise. At some point you have to realize a fan is a fan for most intents and purposes, and the airflow difference is a less important tangible over-all performance (if there is one)/experience (which there certainly is) trade-off than the complete package.

What good is all the innovation if you paint your end product in a skin pink and turd brown!?

It's the new white, you just don't realize it yet;)

I wish Noctua would start making computer cases, then maybe their fans would actually go with something. A case, some basic RAM with low-profile cream heatsinks and some brown GPU backplates...

I mean, ideally they'd switch to white and brown like their booth, but I can't see that happening.

Let''s take a coffe

gotta love noctua!

-----waits for everyone to chime and and say how over priced noctua's are. Not because they are but because they can't afford them.

+1

Until Noctua changes the color of their fans. I will not buy them. I really don't care how good they are. I want my system to look good as well. Shit brown and tan fans would not look good with all black system. If they were all white. Id consider.

How can u define if a fan is good or bad?

I guess it comes down to if you have a window in your case or not.

Personally, I don't have a side window because I don't spend my time staring at the internals of my PC. I would rather have it silently performing like a beast while I focus on the monitor.

Damn troll.

Dang, I love the look of their booth. Noctua has class.

Love my Noctua fans, so awesome and so ugly. :toast:

Nice to see them working more on the d14. Shame not to see the 3 tower cooler from last year back.

Noiseblockers are a definition of nice looking fans. That's why i have a full case of their fans and reason why i don't have Noctua's no matter how good they are...

Noctua's way to have an unique look with their brown colors surely has it's function on the marketing side. They are recognized on first sight. But THOSE colors doesn't fit to any system on this planet! That's the only circumstance that kept me from buying one of their fans so far. Black case with a window, black hardware, blue lights - I'd never dare to mix this with two shades of brown. :D

I actually don't mind the brown colours. It distinguishes them from other fans. In other words it says, "hey I'm a Noctua fan". Pun intended ;)

I use these in my all-black SS FT-02 and they standout but without being all flashy and annoying. I HATE LED's! At least in my main system anyway.

form over function..... nice :nutkick:

And how meny other fan makers gives 6 years Warranty on there fans

i like Noctua tryed alot of other fans out there and im not buying enything else than Noctua

Dont care how good the fan is if it looks like shit.

Don't care how shitty the fan looks if it works well.

Brown on cream is still better looking than tacky LEDs any day in my book.
