sorry im new in overclocking,u say i must buy the hyper 212 evo fan to get the h100 to work?.I have NZXT tempest evo case,the h100 will fit in it or not?.Im confused between Asus p8z77-v pro/Asus MAXIMUS V GENE/Asus sabertooth z77/Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H,which one of them is better?

No, the h100 comes with its own fan and is a complete cooling system. He is saying the hyper 212 is a much cheaper but less powerful option that will still let you overclock significantly. Both items mentioned will fit just fine in your case. The asus maximus V is the best of those but runs a bit extreme as far as pricing. If you care about money and don't plan on having multiple graphics cards running at once, the asus pro will do you just fine. and that gigabytes the worst of your list, although it will also do the job just fine.

IMHO, I love Gigabyte because it board's feature. The On/Off Charge. Very very very useful, can even charge your phone even if its turn off. Of course, only if the plug is turn on.

So far, been using Asus & MSI, none have the feature close to that.

No disrespect on Gigabytes boards when I made that comment! Gigabyte is actually my personal favorite, currently using a P67-UD7-B3 at the moment and I've never used a better board in my life

What I meant to say, is the gigabyte board in his list was the lowest end board with the least amount of power and features, but also by quite a lot, the lowest priced in the list.

"Best" is subjective. Do you want to know which one won't break or come DOA? Every manufacturer has its duds.

bang-for-the-buck is an easier comparison method with a given budget.

Some of the more trustworthy Nvidia based brands are EVGA, ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte.

For AMD there's Sapphire, XFX, and HIS, although Giga, MSI and ASUS factor in there as well.

As mentioned though, any manufacturer can have a "dud" card now and then. Only a few manufacturers buy exclusive Nvidia or AMD GPUs though, and typically get first pick on the binning, meaning the best batch selection. All GPUs are subject to a certain yield. In those with dramatic advances in tech from prior gens, the yields are often lower. In these cases it's good to know you're getting a top binned chip.

EVGA buys exclusively from Nvidia, as does, Sapphire, XFX and HIS from AMD. ASUS and MSI also get top bin chips though, less often Giga, which is evident by the less consistent OCing results. There's a lot more to a video card than the GPU itself though. Many like the cooler on the Giga 670 Windforce. Most are happy with their results too, although some are certainly not seeing the OC results others are.

Personally wait around for the 660 Ti and seem what it sells for in your neck of the woods.

Second this. regardless of what it sells for, even if its only $50 less than the GTX 670, it will be a MUCH more price effective card than anything ati/amd has to offer until their next price cut or even next gen release

All most non ref cards are is a ref PCB design with non ref, better performing cooler. It depends a lot on what brand of non ref you get as far as the reliability, not to mention how you OC it. Ever since the locked down voltage and auto boost though, there's far less concern regarding reliability with non ref Nvidia cards.

Non ref 670s like ASUS are performing pretty consistently, but then they use top bin chips. Giga has one of the most popular non ref 670s in their Windforce, and some are getting very good OC results, but some aren't able to match what the mere dual 6-Pin ASUS can do. The point is the binning of the GPU itself has a lot more to do with the reliability than being ref or non ref.

EVGA used to put longer warranties on their higher binned, higher OCed cards. They've since gone to a standard 3 year warranty, but I'm guessing that has a lot to do with not being able to over-volt them anymore. It could even mean EVGA no longer worry as much about binning, since there's not nearly as much dynamics to the OCing process.

As for next gen (supposedly HD 8000 series) AMD, even regarding spec there's only rumors, and nothing on even just a speculated release date, let alone a rumored one. I'm also guessing Nvidia won't be lagging as far behind on the release of their next gen, being as they are getting better at figuring out how to increase their yields on these new smaller die, more powerful chips.

The GTX 660Ti is coming mid to late August. The date being thrown about is August 16th. Wait a week or two to get reviews on it and pounce, cause I believe availability will be scarce at first.

Actually there's a lot of talk about Nvidia having recently figured out a way to increase yields. That said, there could still be the illusion of low stock when you come out with a midrange card that has 90% of the performance of entry level high end cards. There will no doubt be lots of people wanting one if it performs as well as the early reports indicate.

If you really want to load the 5vsb on your power supply. It's good if you have a device or two hooked up, but it's not good if you're loading your USB ports full and it is strictly using 5vsb. I've encountered people who actually have had issues with this. It also keeps your devices on. For example, I built my parents a SB rig with a gigabyte board and the mouse stays lit up even though the computer is turned off. It's obviously not bad, however it's annoying and could reduce the life of the mouse if it can't put it into a low power mode running off of 5vsb.
