Realistically, is 1GB of VRAM not enough for 1080p with NO Anti Aliasing nowadays?

I don't own the witcher 2 it's just from what i hear the uber-sampling takes a hit like SSAA used to so i guess they are not similar. If it blurs the scene then there should not be too much of a hit like it is, probably just bad optimization. Real SSAA should be the best AA if one can run it unless im wrong. years ago companies stopped using it because it was near impossible to run well.

MLAA2 ftw. It's fast and filters the image nicely. First version did blur the image a bit and 90° angled graphics had round corner, but this second versions has minimized that to such extent that you don't even notice it.

Hey W1zzard, just out of curiousity...

If one has 2 1GB GPUs in SLI/CFX, does an OS/game consider the combined amount of 2GB as applicable space, or is it still 1GB for all technical intents and purposes?

Seriously, it's 2012, bigger and better games/monitors are around the corner. Get 1.5GB or 2GB if you're looking to have a performance card.

I'm about the same as you. :toast:

If I'm playing a fast fps, I can't see the rendering in much detail anyway. This tends to mean in practice that good colours, shading and AF get noticed, but not the amount of jaggies, especially at 1920x1200.

In some cases I like to turn it on though, especially with slower moving games.

thats because of the added memory latency when going to 2GB card.
