Edit: Oh and the Ferrite Choke Solaris is talking about ;)

well another thing i learned in my quest is about a certain problem HDtvs have when they have more then 2 HDMI connections. its usually that another logic processor drives the extra ones. so sometimes trying all of them might resolve an issue because the connections on one logic processor may have interference. perhaps the audio signal is creating some kind of field or the processor itself is showing some form of static.

Yeah both my TV's only have 2 HDMI inputs(They are getting pretty old now) But BOTH of them have one labelled PC. So of course that's the one I use. Why "play with fire" Do as your told.

The nature of the problem I am having is that there an "hdmi audio driver glitch" that breaks what is called "Chroma 4:4:4". Which causes the fuzzy fonts.

I'm working on a solution by editing registry keys in the installer .inf file for the video driver.

I resolved the fuzzy text problem! :toast:

The solution was to add two "EDID override flags" to the video install .inf file.

Like this:

HKR,,OverrideEdidFlags0,%REG_BINARY%,5C,85,80,51,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,7E,01,00

HDMI text is now sharp and clear and things seem stable.

Interesting note.......Nvidia Control Panel now shows the connector as being DVI. Before the Override fix, it showed up as HDMI. This illustrates that the fix has caused the driver to turn off the audio as it would if it were actually seeing a DVI connection. Of course My computer has no DVI......only HDMI and VGA.

Congrats on sorting out the issue.:toast: Now be sure to put that string on a Notepad and save it in case the issue returns or if you choose to update your drivers in the future;)
