If not, they are crappy.

skytec disco speakers + x-fi titanium HD and i heard it at 40Hz, my speakers are only ment to go down to 45hz to.

I also just got my replacement drivers for my KEF Coda 3's and although they are only 8inch there supose to go as low as 27Hz. Havent had time to test as just got in from work.

Its not only a matter of speakers or sound cards, but your ear too and the place where you are hearing the sound.

No, I think it's the compression and encoder YouTube uses. They distort the frequencies.

Plausible, but unlikely. One wall and the floor are concrete. The other wall is insulated. There's not much around that is willing to reverberate.

I'll try again though in a while. I got WMC running on an analog channel so there's constant static. The speakers weren't particularly loud when I tried last time but I'll turn it down next time.

There's not much around that is willing to reverberate.

The audio output device(ie the speaker itself) vibrates, no problem. It's how it makes noise in the first place.

1 Hz, really, is jsut a vibration, and not audio.


Getting lower than 4 Hz, for speakers, is one of the things that people pay $$$$$ for in real high-end speakers, BTW. Your Klipsch are simply not capable( neither are mine).

That "4 Hz" is a big thing in high-end audio, actually.

Don't get me wrong, you got awesome speakers, but they are NOT really anything CLOSE to high-end.


I use actual home audio gear plugged into my PC, and I'm not even gonna bother running the test. anything less than 20 Hz, my neighbours hear, and very loudly, while in my house, it's barely audible.


Your speakers features a crossover the passes anything lower than 120 Hz to the sub, BTW. My bookshelf speakers are rated to 10 Hz, yours...25 Hz(and that 25-120 Hz is sub-only). I did NOT hear 1 HZ. Yes, I heard a noise, but it was nowhere near 1 Hz.

I listened to it again and at 1-20 Hz, it sounds like a constant tone. At 30 Hz, it changed slightly. At 40 Hz, it was clearly changed and continues to do so as it went higher. So 30-40 Hz for both.

When it switched from 100 Hz to 200 Hz, it clearly sounded to me like it transitioned from the subwoofer to the satellites (as expected).

I think this test is much better gives you more time at the lower Hz I can here it till 35Hz

Supreme X-Fi plugged into a set of cheap 2.1's starts making noise at 30hz. I will try on the home theater speakers later. Considering the front monitors have the crossover set to 120Hz I am curious how low the sub will go.

Let me just if you think your computer speakers are actually working at 1hz you may want to think about that again. That is something people spend a fortune on to get in their home theaters.

Used the demolandia 100hz 10hz 10 step down and my satellites went down to 40, but amplitude went down so much, that I couldn't really hear below 80 at normal volumes.

My sub went down to 20, although I couldn't actually hear it, I saw the cone move.

my razer in-ear headphones were able to pick up 5hz... i herd something at 1hz, but it ws hi pitch so i am guessing the source isn;t very clean.. i will test my speakers tomorrow

THat's what they say, less than 20 Hz we cannot hear..I dunno if I can or not. I do know I can FEEL it though, and so can a half-decent audio meter.


As a musician, tuning instruments with other instruments together, the reference is usually 440 Hz, or an "A". Take a bit of real music theory, and you hear a little bit about that sort of stuff.

So got my kef's sorted and i can defo hear the low bass at 30hz Anything lower i feel but can't hear if that makes sense.

I definitely hear it fluttering at 5Hz as for an actual "note" and not a rumble 40hz. X-Fi Fatality on a cheapo set of Creative SBS 560 5.1's

Don't forget to run it at 1080p not sure on the audio quality "stepping" on youtube but definitely higher res's end up with better sound.

Whatever my friend, works perfectly and the sound quality is amazing.
If isn't a proper Creative X Fi it´s pretty close
