Beijing-based company Edifier has this week introduced its latest audio offering, the Exclaim (aka E10) 2.2 speaker system. The Exclaim has a total power output of 36 W and features a 3.5 mm audio input, a frequency response of 48 Hz - 20 kHz, and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to deliver 'active crossover frequencies, superb tonal balance regardless of volume setting', plus Dynamic Range Compensation (DRC) to 'keep any possible distortion at an absolute minimum'.

Each speaker includes an internal amplifier and has two sections - the upper one containing two 11/2 inch midrange/tweeters, and a 11/2 inch x 3 inch passive radiator, and the base with a 3 inch woofer and a 3 inch passive bass radiator. The Exclaim costs €100.

Why the hell can no one make some proper 2.1 speakers anymore is beyond me...

Define proper, and pricerange. Lots of good speakers in the <£50 range, but as you progressively go up the food chain it gets pretty rare.
