Gigabyte unveiled its latest peripheral, the ECO600 wireless laser mouse. The ECO600 runs on two AA batteries, and can run for up to 12 months before needing a battery change. It connects to the USB nano receiver, over a 2.4 GHz wireless connection. It uses laser for tracking, with a adjustable resolutions of 800, 1200, and 1600 dpi, using a resolution switch. Optimized for right-handers, the mouse has two programmable (4th/5th) buttons at the thumb groove. The sides are rubberized to enhance grip. The mouse measures (L)124.5x(W)77.6x(H)41.8 mm, weighing 106 g without batteries. The feather-light receiver can slot into the mouse when not connected to a PC, to prevent misplacing it. Gigabyte didn't give out pricing details.

Though I am not a fan of wireless mice, mainly since I am a "hardcore" gamer, I bet I would kill it's battery in far less than 12 months. I do have to say one thing, the current Gigabyte line of quality mice in general is fantastic.

I recently decided to update my "gaming" mouse and decided to go with a Gigabyte GM-M6980. For only a $40 mouse this thing is incredible, and the "Ghost" software is amazing simple and effective.

I also like the size, design, and feel of the mouse. This ECO600 is using the same design. Even though I do not use wireless, my wife does, so I think I will have to pick up one of these and let her put it to the test. See how long it will really last.

Great job Gigabyte!

Well its not such achievement to make your mice works for 12 month with two AA battery if you only surf and type alot. I have ONE AA rechargeable battery in mine and it lasts for 7-8 month. Yup great rechargeiees. Not the one that declare 100mAh while having 400mAh instead :p

So to better market this mice these should last at least six month with ONE 1000mAh rechargeable battery.

Well, i'm interested in this product, and have opportunity to buy one lightly used for a month to test its endurance. Here we only receive shipment of those in Jun 2012
