TITAN vs GTX 690 vs 7970 which is best?

Lol, the 7990 IS crossfire (and specifically said he wouldn't crossfire)! It has two 7970 GPUs on a single board and uses crossfire technology for them to work together. I don't think its a game issue but a rather physical size/cooling (that is preventing him from dual-card SLi/CF as he was considering a 690 which also is a dual-GPU SLi card.
I reckon the 690 is the best choice. He also said he wouldn't want a 7990 (which is a 3 slot card, supporting the fact it COULD be a size limit)

The new 7990 is dual slot and if you read and comprehend my post I am saying it is faster when crossfire is supported than a Titan.

Titan. But on a 21" monitor that is more then overkill.

7970 makes a lot more sense, but he wants the best sooo.

120hz though.. so it will still be pretty much utilized in terms of horsepower. He can crank up the AA for the mem utilization.

well in fact its the Titan that claim this title

buuuttt Titan is a overrated naming (nothing impressive for the price asked, really) roughly 25% more perf for 2.4x the price its not what we can call a good improvement.

indeed the price is titanesque, the consumption is good but the perf/price ratio is off the chart... juste like a Asus Ares II Double 7970 Ghz Ed. oh wait ... no its a bit better than the Titan for the perf/price ratio ... 50% faster (1440p) for 40% more in the price

in fact if i had the money for a Titan i would get a 7970 Ghz Ed. (or 2) i dont hate Nvidia but their price is nowhere what they shall be, are they worth to be that price? imo : no.

I wont deny it, for sure, it has one of the worst pperf in GPUs history.

Still it is the best and it comes at a price, everybody knows it and especially nvidia knows it.

Its the most powerfull single GPU card (a lil' step above 7970GE) indeed, but not the best ( rule n° 1 : there Its no generic best.
