I'm Looking for a small circuit board to provided power to a 12v DC to a Pump (18 watt .69amp), and 4 3pin fans. This is to provided power to a external water cooling rack.
I'm in the process of brainstorming, and would appreciate, ideas, alternatives, etc. As it stands I've found things close, or things I'm unsure would work. I'll keep looking.
Thanks all.

Before I go to bed I have poured over my search and the mCubed Mini NG is supplied power via 4 pin Molex, providing this power via a external 4 pin power source makes the use of said unit possible, but without having to use the a PC's ATX power supply. I see no way however to make this on/off capable, unless you just unplug it.
I had an idea to just short a ATX's 24pin on the power supply, but it would be unsightly and huge.
I'm quickly drawing to the conclusion that I might be asking for something that doesn't really exist. Yes, it does, but it's inviting Jerry and Jimmy to the party creating a very odd solution.
Anyway, awesome feedback, and my brain hurts, till tomorrow. :rockout:

i don't know where do you get that .69amps from.
if it's 18 watt pumps with 12v dc input, then it would require 1.5 amps at the minimum ;)

Thanks for the feedback, and help with this.

In the future if I can collaborate this with some buds you'll see a system in this.

And theses parts powering a external water rack roughly a little bigger then the case itself

The power supply from this unit (below) and any fan controller should also work:

StarTech USB2SATAIDE Adapter - Newegg.com

Has an inline switch and has a 12V/2A and a 5V/2A output

** EDIT- I own one of them and read the output from the power brick if curious about it **

If you want long-term reliability and good quality, go for a Seasonic or a Delta power brick. LiteOn also make some good ones...

Laptop bricks are not 12 volt. Netbook bricks usually are 12 v.

well, P = VI hence I = P/V so current needed = 18 watts / 12 volts = 1.5 amps

anyway, lcd monitor power bricks is usually 12 v and can provide around 4 amps current, it should provide enough juice.

laptops power adapters/chargers are usually around 19 volts, not 12v
