Price estimate on my rig

so ive decided to sell up and start a new project for summer (its wet and windy here tho)

I would like to know what I can expect to get for my system, without operating system. I still have all the boxes and its all a few months old.

a few additions will be applied, 12gb ripjawsx and obviously finished.

(I may even buy a 7970 to put in it along with a h110)

so what can I expect on both approaches, thanks.

yea and I do want to account for the mod, I know what id put it up for as standard but a lot of time and effort went into making it look nice. and this is where im unsure how much to ask.

I ask for a price estimate and I get a 'meh' on the cpu lol

$900 = £550

ive paid so far about £1000 in total!

I may just stick it up for about what I paid and see what happens. or buy swiftek 220, ram and 7970 then stick it up for £1200ish

thought people would be more helpful tbh.

I can give you an estimate in dollars and considering prices in the US. Might not be all that useful for you.

We'll say:
$250 - 7950
$120 - FX 8350
$100 - Motherboard
$40 - 8GB of RAM (Guessing, your System Specs don't specify)
$120 - SSD+HDD
$50 - PSU
$40 - Case
$50 - CPU Heatsink, Additional Fans, + Mod
----
$770

Bear in mind this is just me lopping off what I'd consider a reasonable "used" discount from the average retail prices. I'm not sure what sort of market exists for modded cases, so that might take you further. I'd say anytime that you're selling used, don't expect more than 70% of retail.

I should add that the fact you've done very well in terms of cable management might help it sell considerably. That and the color coordination. I've seen a fair number of used systems posted and if they bother to include internal pictures at all, they're usually a rat's nest of cables with a few years worth of dust.

Switzerland is not Great Brittain you know.

But yeah don't expect to make a profit. It looks great and all, but at best you'´ll break even. I think, but go for headshot.

EDIT: Be creative with the ad! Take good pictures, the one you have here will not do. Be creative with lightning and so on. That sort of thing can really help.

ive noticed on ebay my card going for more than retail when second hand lol

In the U.S. you MIGHT get $500 for it. More people here buy brand new parts so the demand for used rigs is quite low unless it is BARELY used.

I don't think there's that big a market for pre built pre modded cases tbh , most people are too skint and those with doe and wanting this are few and far between and would likely have an exxess of doe therefore wanting pro shop style service and warranty terms on a new pc ocd.

That is the efficient way of doing it. Start with friends and family and build a small pool of happy customers, then you can open up the walls and hopefully word of mouth from those close to you is enough to keep you busy. The sad fact is, not many people are looking for the kind of rigs you want to build, be ready to build a few plain Jane builds without a lot of room for markup since you are then competing with OEM prices.

As for the rig, I get that you painted it, and it looks like the wires were sleeved, but in all honestly, you will be hard pressed to charge for those features. As for the rig, I built one similar to that for near $1000, most of it brand new, to buy it used, I would say you need to knock off 25%, seems fair.

if nothing happens asus 7970 for xfire and aio..... keep it for several years and then give it to my lil bro. I know times are hard, ive started a facebook page with my mod. so ill see what happens.

So people are willing to pay such sums for pre-built systems. It may be worth forking out the extra £80 to get Windows and pre-install it though. This is based on a guess that people who buy pre-built systems will not want to install an OS themselves.

Lots of photos and such, you'd maybe be able to get £1,500 for it.
