No, however there may be some games that utilize more CPU power/threads than you have. Not a big deal though.

Will it be faster when paired with a faster CPU? absolutely. Will it hinder its performance in a major way? No.

Yes i know but i can't pay an i7 for this moment

You wouldn't even need an i7. just an unlocked i5 and overclock it. But then you would need a board that supports overclocking with multipliers, which you don't.

1920x1080

I run about that resolution, and I have a 780 coming on Tuesday, but I plan to get a monitor with 1440p resolution here soon.

Fact of the matter, 780 is OVERKILL for 1080p resolutions.

Im saying that it will be perfectly fine with your i5, a 3330 is almost as fast as a stock clocked 2500k.

I disagree.... Games like Metro 2033/ Metro Last Light/ Crysis 3/ and Far Cry 3 will bring a GTX 780 down on a 1080p resolution. That's just to mention a few. Also if he plans on keeping the card for a couple of years you should take into account future games. With rumors of game makers designing games for the PC and porting them over to consoles like PS4 and Xbox one (since consoles switched to x86 architecture).... I would expect to see games get more intensive sooner rather than later.

In terms of His CPU bottle necking a GTX 780.... I would say yes it will. Shoot I saw a performance increase when overclocking my i7 3770k with two gtx 680's and another performance increase when overclocking my i7 3930K with my GTX Titan. So I could only image the extra performance gain he may if he was able to overclock his i5 3330.

Whether or not the performance gain he would get with overclocking is worth spending an extra $400 dollars to get another CPU and Motherboard is debatable. But he would for sure get better performance with a better CPU/Motherboard/ and Overclocking.

No. Go for the 780. When you can afford later you should get Haswell.
