Sick of Wireless adapters problems

Hi

This is a problem that has been tormenting me for months.
I had five wireless adapters already. D-Link DWL-G510, TP-Link WN851N, SMC EZ Connect G, TP-Link WN722N and Belkin N150.

In the beggining I had the SMC but it was too slow. It was impossible to play online or browse on the internet. Later, I realize that the problem came from the Wireless Adapter and not from the ISP/Router. So I changed and bought D-Link G510 PCI. But the problem was still there. And it happened to me with like 5 different routers and connections. Tried the USB SMC and was the same. Thought that they were both broken so, for the last time, I bought TP-Link WN851N which was way better than my previous cards. And guess what? The problem didn't disapear. Sometimes I couldn't even connect to the network. Remember, this happened to me with different connections, different routers in different places. I thought it was a motherboard problem or any other component, so I ignored until I changed my system completely.

When I got my new 1155 platform (was using 755) got myself a TL-WN722N since my new motherboard didnt support PCI cards, and... Problem was still there once more (I didnt kept any component I had). I mean, it only happens to me. People within my network work just fine. Even my old laptop can held it. There's nothing around the PC that can interfere with the signal, no TV, no Phone, no Radio, nothing nearby.

Yeasterday a friend of fine borrowed me a Belkin N150, and expecting it to change, it didnt.
When we were playing together online in the same place, I was the only one having HUGE lag spikes (Playing League of Legends I had sudenly 800MS + for no reason while people around me were absolutely fine). I tried every single USB Port, Frontal Panel and Media Card Reader USB and it's all the same.

This is so ridiculous...

sounds like somethings spazzing out your windows wireless.


try disabling the windows wireless zero config service after you're connected, and see how that goes. i've heard people saying every minute they'd get ping spikes as it scanned for new networks.

Just switch to powerline adapters, wireless is the most unreliable connection to a network possible.

Did you try changing your router's wifi to use a non-congested channel? Sometimes erratic behavior is caused by interference.

If not, please do so. You can use InSSIDer on your desktop or laptop or you can use the Amped Wifi analytics tool on your android phone to search for networks status.

Please install those and then adjust your network to not use the same channel.

Never had a single Virus on my PC. Also, I formated Windows over 20 times since then. I'll probably go for powerline solution. But I'll try that first remixedcat. And I don't think it's my ISP. SInce it doesn't happen with my ISP only. I had this problem on 5 different ISP connections.

try what i said. it sounds like a software issue.


if your PC gets the ping spikes and others on the same internet connection do not, and its done it with multiple wifi adaptors - then the problem clearly is some software on your PC, be it windows and its settings (the zero config service) or a program you've installed every time.
