Wow i was just checking here in argentina and there is absolutely NO TRACE of the x6 1065t that would be my processor of choice, neither is of the 910e, so, guess i'll just wait 'till the BF4 beta, and then if my CPU doesn't cut it, i'll upgrade to an i5 or cheap i7 and so long AMD for a while.

Thank you all guys, if someone else can think of other solution let me know, but i think this is pretty much it, i mean my CPU it's been OCed for 3 years now on stock cooler, im a little afraid to crank it up again, i think he can pull 3.4 before dying but i'm not sure xD

HAHHAH!

For better cooling over an aircooler and less noise.

BF3 multiplayer espcially 64 map is bit tricky. Sometimes on few servers you get extremely good FPS and smooth play but on some its choppy. I went from Phenom II X2 555 unlocked to X4 @ 3.6 to 1045T and saw good difference. With X4 I always stick to 48 seat map. With 1045T 64 was no problem but bit choppy. Also I went from 6870 to 6970. Now I did a total upgrade from 1045T to FX 8320 @ 4.2. Upgrading the 6970 video card, trying out both Asus 7870 DCII and MSI TFIII 7950. FPS is now awesome. Really good. 7870 is OCed all the way to 1200 on GPU and 7950 is @ 1150. diff in FPS between both cards is about 5 to 7 FPS. Price diff is about $50. So I am torn between which one to keep! I have set the game @ HIGH settings, get about 77 FPS on 7870 OCed and 83 FPS on 7950 OCed.

I will post more of my findings later.

Well i do recommend the 7870 it's less power consumption and the 2gb version can give you a really nice run for your money bro! Take that extra cash and buy your girlfriend something nice.

You sir have a CPU bottleneck. Both games you linked are very CPU dependent

This is just a comparison between a FX 4100 & 8320. The FX 4100 is faster than a Phenom II x3 720 so you should get an idea.

I would suggest you upgrade it. If you already have a AM3+ mobo you could drop in a FX 8320 and call it a day but if not it will depend on your budget as what the best option would be.

true. But there are other games that 7950 really shines. I am looking at this extra $50 to hold me for more time when compared to 7870 which might start to struggle later? I can add another 7870 but again I am spending more for another card + need more powerful PSU.

Right now max watts (whole system) used while extreme gaming
7950 OCed - 410W
7870 OCed - 320W

OCed 7870 performance almost equal to 7970 non-Ghz
OCed 7950 performance almost equal to 7970 Ghz edition.

@Durvelle27

Thanks for that!! Crysis works great btw, the thing it's Battlefield 3, but yeah, it's definitely my CPU then, well i kinda knew it i just didn't want to accept it :( :( :( do you think a final overclock it's worth the try??? Would it make any kind of a difference?? If you were to recommend me another CPU, keep in mind this is the supported list for my motherboard (http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3150)

@suraswami

DUde if you have the money and can afford the wattage, then go for it!

Overclocking would help some. You could give it a try as it won't hurt to see. But what i would do is see if you could unlock the fourth core then OC as that would give some good performance.

I tried to run Hybrid on my bios (you know, to unlock) but sadly my CPU isn't one of those, it just goes to a blank screen so i panicked and never did it, like never ever again. I updated the bios several times tho, it might be worth the shot.

I upgraded long time ago from a PII 940Be to an I5 750 because the 940be got very hot when oced and my cooler (Scythe Kama Angle rev B) couldn't cope with the 3.7Ghz heat emanated by the oced PII..The I5 750 got better overall and cooler so i have decent oc headroom until i reach the cooler limit Scythe Kama Angle rev B.
If you want to stick to AMD platform get an Fx4350 (it's a revised revision of Fx4100 that was crappy) or get a second hand I7 socket 1366 platform or even better get a 2400 or 2500k sandy bridge platform... They got very cheap because they are "old"...I don't play any BF in multiplayer so i can't say anything from experience how things will work..

A 6300 would be a good upgrade and can be OC'd very easily

It should be fine as a HD 7870 doesn't draw alot of power

I hope you consider also an I5 on 1156..Easy to OC and cool also...and cheap because is old...
When i bought the 1156 kit i also got a mainboard from premium segment for a very good price..
Asus maximus III..Of course im using only 10% of it's options but is a very nice way to get a glimpse on not very afordable segment..Having this board i realized that the premium segment (boards that costs 150$ and more) are pretty useless for me...
If you get a 1366 I7 you will get very high end boards at nice prices...Some people payed 300$ only for the board when was new.....

There is an alternative:
Put the FX6300 or FX4350 aside and get a 4 core APU like A8-5600K...Basically you have 3.6Ghz default freq with turbo you get 3.9Ghz and tdp is rated 100w..The intersting thing in case the APU is that you have a spare VGA that can make nice things between disceet gpu upgrades...You can actually use the computer if you sell your discreet vga and wait for ugrades...Imo this is a big plus for APU vs the usual FX..Same architecture and performance...

Keyboard Corsair K-70 (Cherry MX Red Switches)
Software Windows 10 x64 Ultimate Edition
Ok news flash. Last night i got home from work and said, hey there Phenom II let's give you one last ride!!!

Well, i ended up having to clear CMOS by manually jumping the board so, that's a no, the 4th core won't unlock. After that i tried to overclock further reaching for 3.5-3.6, blue screens all around, so that's another no.

On the bright side i must say, i had a processor that set me back like $99 4 years away and it was always clocked at 3.2 when i payed for a 2.8 with no plans of unlocking, so i can't ask him anymore. And he still works.

Thing is, im stuck with him until A)-My next paycheck B)-Something else in my computers blows up.

Do you even know the brand?? It's made this side of the equator and among latin american users it's a really nice one for the price point.
This PSU it's been used for ever over here and has never gave no one a single issue, performs wonderfully and the 12v rails packs more than enough punch.

i dont see it mentioned, but what drivers? try catalyst 13.8 beta 2, they might make a difference with the spikes. they're aimed at crossfire, but have a good reputation overall.
