So, I've been playing for a while now and am currently leveling a warrior and its getting far too boring. I know ill have alot more fun at 90 but getting there seems almost impossible. I always seem to lose interest. I hate paying 15$ a month but WoW seems to be the only thing I have to pass the time now. I really need some help finding a new hobby. Can anyone recommend some free games that dont take a ton of PC reqs that I can play when im bored?

Would be quite nice if you can tell us what your main interests lie. You can take a look at World of Tanks (and other World of X games) if you want some unconventional shooter. If you prefer something which is more fantasy based I think Guild Wars 2 is slightly less grindy (but should still largely be the same).

I used to really enjoy COD4 when I was playing it, and TF2. I was always interested in getting new items and working on my trading skills. Improving my gameplay and things of that nature. I would enjoy TF2 this moment if my computer could run it or if I had the funds to upgrade. I might be able to upgrade in the future so I might check out the new COD. I want some ideas for the future but also something to occupy my time until then.

Diablo II was something I was really interested in, not too much of a level grind. It was more of a gear grind and dueling was immense fun! Too bad it fell off the map. :/

Try out RIFT, it's free, a lot like wow but very different.
If you get bored you don't have to just grind through levels and stuff.
I enjoy it when I've got too much down time, not a lot lately though.

I'll have to check it out. Just looked at some videos and it looks pretty cool.

I never got into WoW...but the original Guild Wars was fun years ago...it's the only MMO I played for more than a few hours and completed the PvE portion. There are a lot of good free or cheap games out there. Depends on what you like. I'm a strategy kinda guy..C&C, Starcraft, Warcraft, SupCom 1 & 2 (I love 1, but 2 is more fun when you are time limited), Sins of a Solar Empire series, Stardrive, and most recently Wargame: EE and ALB.

Thanks Kursah, i'll check out that thread. I really see myself getting black ops 2 when I can if its as fun as it used to be. Spending that amount it better be! I've never really been into strategy. Always been a fps and mmo guy. I used to spend hours tweaking my COD gameplay and watching videos and reading up on the subject, always trying to make myself a better player.

I would vote up firefall and League of Legends.

A game that's pretty cheap and fun is Counter Strike Global Offensive. However, there is a very high skill curve. I played css about 2000+ hours and cs:go im at 200 ish.

Wouldn't play League of Legends, unless you are willing to sink 1000hrs into the game you will not find the enjoyment early on.

The problem (IMO) is that it's so easy to level now. I can sort of see the reason for this (bring players to endgame content quicker, and if you already have a couple of max level characters it's no fun leveling another the hard way), but it's boring.

It was way better In The Olden Days.

League is one of those terrible games where the game itself is amazing but 90% of the playerbase is a bunch of arrogant trolls. Similar to how WoW has become, I still dip into PVP in WoW to pwn some noobs, but now I prefer to play CS:GO. It's and FPS, very hard, but very satisfying, and most of the players know what they're doing.

I just gotta say that the chat channels in the cities are FAR worse with Alliance people. I started a new guy in the same server, maturity level dropped like a stone. Now I block everything, it's the only way. Which is a problem for me because the game isn't as fun as it was for solo people.
