The gaming world has already been taken by storm with the release of Grand Theft Auto V. The game landed on consoles in mid-September, and has been breaking records and making headlines since. GTAV has gotten outstanding reviews and is one of the most complete games of one of the greatest game franchises in history. But the fun is not done yet.

GTA has one more trick up its sleeve, which will be releasing this game on PC consoles. This content will take a look at when you can expect to see GTA on the computer and how the gameplay will run.

The good news is that although it’s a bit later than Xbox and PlayStation, GTA will be released on the PC on November 22. Now, keep in mind that this is yet another date given by Rockstar games, and this may even be pushed out again as we get closer to mid-November.

But in the mean time, fans who prefer to play PC games can get excited for that holiday season release. And with all of the hype and excitement that GTA V has already garnered, it only makes sense that a holiday release would be perfect for the PC version.

As for the game itself, you can expect many of the same great options that are available on the Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game. You will have the opportunity of playing as one of three characters as you play through Los Santos as a criminal looking to make money and stay ahead of the law.

The first character you will play as is Franklin, a street-wise gangster from the streets who is trying to shake the less-then-successful ways of his LS homies. After a few missions with Franklin, you’ll meet Michael, who is a retired theft who made his millions years ago in a jewel heist gone wrong.

We later find out that Michael was friends with Trevor, another playable character, and the two will again cross paths in this game. The players intertwine and interact with each other perfectly, adding to the dimension and entertainment of GTA V.

All eyes will remain on that November 22, release date for GTA on the computer. After all, not everyone in the world has an Xbox or PlayStation and computers are much more accessible in many places. And after a petition went around that was signed by over 500,000 people, it’s obvious that there is a huge demand for this game.

Players will keep their attention on the game, and hope their holiday season is filled with the excitement of Los Santos.

This is good news. Now the question is if you'll be able to get more than 20fps from anything less than a high-end PC. GTA4 was a horribly optimized title; I'm not even sure "GTA4" and "optimized" should be allowed to be used in the same sentence.

Wow, that's so much better than the seven months it took them to release GTA4. I'm super excited (and sad because now I have to upgrade everything in order to actually run it).

You guys better hope newtekie doesn't see those comments

GTA4 ran fine on my 5850 and Phenom II so I don't know what you guys were doing wrong.

EDIT: I hope the box art pic in the article isn't real. This doesn't need to be a GFWL game.

Rockstar has had a long time to work with the RAGE engine since GTA IV. Even though it wasn't an open sandbox, the latest Max Payne ran very well with some pretty good graphics to boot. I think GTA V will be much more optimized than IV was.

I am assuming this will be released for the PC together with the release for PS4/Xbox one, which would actually lead me to believe it might be ported well because both next gen consoles run on x86.

I'll wait until I see this from a legit website. All I see backing this up are rumors of some UK retailer called GameSeek putting this preorder date up.

So many people say the PC port "wasn't optimized" or was "a crappy port" just because maximum settings overpowered high end PCs at the time of release. However, that isn't how you measure how well a game is optimized. A real measure of a games optimization is if it can play on a wide range of hardware, and GTA:IV could. When GTA:IV came out for PC in Dec. 2008, I played it using an HD4670 and an Athlon X2 4400+. The GPU at the time was pretty new to the market, but it was also a mid-range card, the processor at the time was several years old, in fact the CPU was bought all the way back in 2006. The game ran just fine and looked good too, in looks significantly better than the console version that's for sure. To me, being able to run on a mid-range-ish system and look better than the console translates into a pretty good port.

The sad thing is that most people would have never complained about the game "not being optimized" if Rockstar had just limited the maximum settings to half of what they did, but instead Rockstar gave us the option to crank that shit up knowing it would bring hardware to it's knees, and I applaud them for that.

So many people say the PC port "wasn't optimized" or was "a crappy port" just because maximum settings overpowered high end PCs at the time of release.

Lets be honest. GTA IV overpowered high end computers at "MEDIUM" settings. Not high or very high, MEDIUM.

Even now, I'm replaying GTA IV and I occasionally get low FPS at very high all these years later.

A real measure of a games optimization is if it can play on a wide range of hardware, and GTA:IV could. When GTA:IV came out for PC in Dec. 2008, I played it using an HD4670 and an Athlon X2 4400+ .

I disagree. Crysis 3 plays on a wide range of hardware. It "plays" @ 10FPS on a 9500GT does that mean its well optimised?

I'm happy GTA 5 is finally coming to PC. Do you guys feel it's because of the petition? Or was this Rockstars plan all along?

Wasn't a lot of the performance issues with GTA IV due to streaming files/textures off of the HDD?

I doubt it, it streamed textures off the DVD/Blu-Ray on consoles.

I think a large part of it was the auto-record feature thing that was on by default that constantly recorded everything that was going on so you could go back and replay the last minute or whatever. Turning that off saved a lot of CPU usage and smoothed out gameplay a lot.

Lets be honest. GTA IV overpowered high end computers at "MEDIUM" settings. Not high or very high, MEDIUM.

Even now, I'm replaying GTA IV and I occasionally get low FPS at very high all these years later.

I played it on high with my high end rig at the time, X3370@4GHz+GTX280, it didn't over power it.

I disagree. Crysis 3 plays on a wide range of hardware. It "plays" @ 10FPS on a 9500GT does that mean its well optimised?

I said "can be played", not "plays". A game isn't playable at 10FPS, however GTA:IV is completely playable on a wide range of hardware, including low to medium rigs.

I'm happy GTA 5 is finally coming to PC. Do you guys feel it's because of the petition? Or was this Rockstars plan all along?

It was their plan the whole time, they are following the same launch schedule they've had for the past several GTA titles.

that is such a bad source link... why would it be a borderless window, looks like a video player (yes fraps will pick it up), any exe can be renamed, how can GTA5 only use 800mb ram, looks like AF isnt being applied on the road texture, etc

& of course, why would some random russian person (or windows) with mirrors edge & crysis installed have access to gta5

also it says it's a date given by rockstar, where??

past GTA games were ~200 days after console

Yes, I built my system around a watercooled (although poor overclocking) 1GB 4850 and quad core CPU. I handed it just fine, and I played it just fine at medium high settings, for all that was going on it was amazing. Most people with 512 or 768MB card were just butthurt as they couldn't play it even though they loved playing benchmark games.

Wasn't a lot of the performance issues with GTA IV due to streaming files/textures off of the HDD?

Lack of Vmem was the biggest issue at first.

If it was going to be released so soon after the Xbox360 and PS3 version, why didn't they announce it before the console versions released?
