In the NVidia 780ti news article btarunr released this morning, he made a comment saying NVidia was falling into AMD's R10 Zeus trap. I replied saying I had googled it and found nothing, then 2 minutes later our posts were deleted.

If I remember correctly he also said he was joking.

Besides they can't make it faster due to already high power usage. Other option is to do dual R9 290.

Who's up for betting that its a dual Hawaii GPU capable of 8 way crossfire (the new crossfire is apparently only limited by the number of PCIe slots available so 2 cores per card with 4 cards gives 8 GPU cores in crossfire).

As far as anyone can tell, the 290X has a ~400w power draw in Furmark, and throttles on the stock cooler at stock settings. It would be impossible if not improbable for Zeus to be a dual 290X chip, because nothing except water could cool it. Not to mention it would likely be a 3 x 8pin card similar to the Devil13 7990.
My best guess is simply a 290X with more SP's. ~3000 maybe. The power and thermal envelope are clear issues though.
