Why do you feel like you need to upgrade your current board? If the system is working correctly, I personally would not upgrade the MB unless it's going to give me something I either need or can benefit from, i.e. more USB connections, more expansion slots, better OC'ability

RIVE Black Edition is a socket 2011 board so that would mean you would need a new CPU and TBH I would just go with a 1150 4770K if you plan on a 290X

So because you feel your CPU is bottlenecking your video cards, you want to do a upgrade that will in-able your video cards to run a little faster, while still retaining what you feel is your bottleneck. That doesn't make since to me. Personally, I feel up should upgrade the whole system, not just the motherboard, if you feel your CPU is your bottleneck.

RIVE Black Edition is a socket 2011 board so that would mean you would need a new CPU and TBH I would just go with a 1150 4770K if you plan on a 290X

I didn't even realize you were talking about a different socket board. So are you talking about a full system upgrade or just a motherboard? The RIVE will not work with your current CPU as brandonwh64 pointed out.

Just word of WARNING: If you are going to be crossfiring a 290 or 290x you pretty much are stuck with LGA2011 since the slots are x16 in multi GPU configurations. I do not think people realize it though, but as far as I can see from talking to cadaveca, the x8 x8 crossfire on say 1150 is not enough bandwidth since crossfire is done now through the PCIe slots. No more bridge.

simple question, with 2 cards, have you oc it?
its like you wanna add another card to improve your result.
personally your system is ok, i may try oc it and see how much its gonna get before thinking of replacing it.
maybe better or newer board is enough but you may hard to find board with 1366. could move to 1550

PSh. I said no such thing. I has no idea about that since I don't have cards. It might be more important now, but until testing is done...

you literally said in team speak that it wont work on z87 and really only on 990fx or x79.

I think you were high. I said 3 cards wouldn't likely work well, since 3-slot boards are usually x8/x8/x4 or x8/x4/x4, and that x4 link is likely to bottleneck(as seems to be the case with even 2 cards when using a x4 link for the second card). Not working well and not working at all are very different things.

The cpu is at 4.0 ghz 24/7 stable and all three gpu is at 1100/1500 mhz 24/7. I just dont get why my score is higher when I had 2 and now it went down with 3. I check some of the valley score and I should be in 121 for 3 7950 instead of 80. It was 87 with 2 card.

Sounds kind of normal. Crossfire with three cards doesn't always work out right just in general. I had 3x AMD 7950 cards, now have 2x 7970, but only use one card since that's all that will fit in my case currently.

Try different drivers, make sure cards aren't throttling (looks like you got cooling under control, however), and just be aware that a platform upgrade may not solve the issues you have completely. I did run my 7950's on SKT2011.
