So i just ordered this... What are your thoughts

if its a llano chip or brazos chip you can OC it with programs like K10stat. works fine on my a6 laptop, the low clock speed screwed it over for gaming, but when OC'd from 1.4GHz to 2.2Ghz everything because much faster.

camt seem to install dirt 3 though. some problem that i had, but i dont remember how i solved it .

Does it run movies nice at 1080p? A friend of mine wants a basic laptop with a nice keyboard, basically to hold music samples (hes a classical musician), typing documents, and HDMI to a TV for movie watching. Think this would fit the bill?

I was looking at some Dell outlet stuff, $700 USD for a haswell i7, 1TB 7200HDD, onboard intel hd graphics with hdmi, 8 gb ram etc .

But since hes not very tech heavy a basic $400 laptop would probably be smarter.

it will be more than he needs. pretty good performance. 7670M inside, so the graphical performance is pretty good. aslo the 4500 quad core isnt that bad.

havent gotten around to installing games since there has been a ton of updates that need installing.
this is the best lappy i got around this range. all the i3 ones are sluggish and consume too much power.

i ran this for 2 hours on browsing and installing programs and it still had 80% charge left (i use high performance option)

i was wrong abut the display, its pretty good actually!

Windows 8 gets more comfotable by using it.. it's new you'll get used to it.

a wet fart will run videos at 1080p. modern smartphones can do it - its more about the software you use than the hardware.

damn windows 8 is the worst OS in human history.
cant install applications from store, its always ALWAYS stuck at pending, even after applying the fix.
tried updating, but it got stuck after the restart to update phase, so restarted and now failed.now its stuck at freaking failure configuring windows updates, reverting changes....

This OS is so dumbed down , its too hard to understand what the fuck it is doing behind the screen.
and it doesnt run ANYTHING with admin priviledges, looks like i need t o manually give everything using internet, internet usage rights.

If you modify the software portion, you will loose the software warranty. Not the hardware warranty. Confirm this with a service center.

Something might be wrong maybe? And a lot of Windows errors have always been mysterious; update error codes that only exist in support forums, "program is not responding" without explanations.. You can't solely blame Windows 8 for this.

Also, can't you change the security settings?

yeah i heard of that before, same with HP.
but its an original windows version LOLOLOL. dont wanna loose that.

just did a hard reset and and doing the samsung software update.... if this fails, windows 7 it is.
i doubt 8.1 is any better.

Samsung makes the best quality products - the reason why they are successful in every product they offer be it to us consumers or to third parties. And I am sure most people will agree on that.
My phone is 2 years old - a Samsung Galaxy Y. Still good as new. 4 year old Samsung 22" LCD TV good as new. Samsung DVD player bought on 2006. Still good as new. A Samsung Guru phone, 3.5 years old. These products didn't require any servicing ever.
My sister's phone the Samsung M2710 did require servicing once or two as the slider cable got cut off. But the phone still works like a charm.

FANBOY ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had TONS of DOA and subpar samsung products.

Anyways, nice laptop. Personally, i don't care about viewing angles, as long as the colors are not washed out when you are directly looking at the screen it should be fine. Imho that is probably the best gaming performance you could get for that price, however for maybe 120$ more you could have gotten a used ASUS G46VW on Newegg and whatnot, GTX 660M and i5 3xxx.
