How can I make Internet Download Manager (IDM) capture downloads of programs other than browsers (e.g. Windows update or advanced driver updater)?

you should set idm started from your browser, like ie, firefox or just set it up manually
but updating not through browser i guess its not supported

another issue!
I downloaded with IDM one video (Linkin Park x Steve Aoki, a light that never comes in 1080p) from youtube and when I played, I discovered there was no audio. I redownloaded it and the same thing happened. To test wheather it was for that video, I downloaded Battlefield 4 trailer from youtube and the same thing happened. Whatever video I download it seems to be the same problem. Why is this happening and what is the remedy for it?

Recently, youtube service 'dropped' the 1080p download links. Their are currently unavailqble for most 3rd party plug ins and programs. You could try Orbitdownloader. It has a function called Grab++, that 'rips' media froma web page. But I don't guarantee it's going to work.
