According to the research, a high percentage of short circuit, system instability, and burn out are caused by the physical environment, which can be referred to extremely hot or cold environment. ECS motherboards with Durathon Technology have been tested under extreme operating conditions with wide range temperature standard, which adopts 50% more stringent temperature test than normal industry standard, significantly improving the lifespan and reliability of the entire motherboard.

Ultra Wide Band Temperature Range
Durathon Technology offers the Extreme Temperature Resistance range from 50 ˚C to - 10 ˚C, which is 10˚C higher and lower than the competitors' motherboard test, offering 50% more stringent temperature test than industrial standard. With an ultra-wide band temperature range, ECS motherboards with Durathon Technology can effectively reduce the PCB warping and the stress for the motherboards due to drastic temperature fluctuations in cold environment. For the high temperature resistance to 50 ˚C, rather than 40 ˚C, Durathon Technology is more capable of ensuring the stability and durability of the system since the average PC operating temperature is around 40 ˚C~45 ˚C, which is higher than the average boundary of 40˚C.

Tested For Extreme Operation Conditions
In order to make the computers operate flawlessly in every corner of the world, ECS motherboards with Durathon Technology have been designed to operate in extreme environments - even when handling supremely demanding computing tasks under the most extreme environmental conditions, such as hot deserts or cold arctic environment - which are far above the industry standards for motherboards and give you unmatched durability and stability.

Motherboard Quality You Can Trust
ECS Durathon comprises four interlocking tests and enhancements together to protect PCs and defeat all the vital causes of hardware problems and system instability, which includes Triple Density PCB, Extreme Temperature Resistance, 1.5K Marathon Testing, and Superior Solid Capacitors. When it comes to quality and durability of your motherboard, ECS goes above and beyond industry standards to ensure that you have a motherboard that will last long and continue to outperform the competition. Trust only motherboards built with Durathon Technology.

I would think the temperature limits of other manufactures are only there because the manufacturers don't think that anyone would want to use their products at -10°C and 50°C, not because their products fail at those temperatures. I've never had any problems with my car PC (ASRock H61M-GE + Pentium G620) over three years, and it's been started at both -15°C winter nights and 50°C summer sun.

Just marketing fluff to try and keep pace with Asus marketing B.S. which ranks as the most over-the-top PC claims in history - for every mobo they make.
