I left my pc for 1-2 months without scanning for viruses and this is what happens lol and the point is even with so many virus on my computer it was still running on low CPU lol ,however i was expecting it because windows was opening up through the firefox sudden so i check it out with malwarebytes and i had like 30 virus

Reminds me of a PC I had to fix for a coworker once. Couldn't even log into Windows. Extracted the HDD, hooked it up to an isolated test environment (read: spare PC) and ran a few tests... I think it was 150 Viruses, some Worms, and a bucketload of malware. Talked to her, made a clean install, and taught her about Antivirus software, which she didn't use before.

Thing is, this shouldn't happen. Did you have a hardware firewall, or edge firewall, switched on? These are typically found in your router, but can be a separate box as well.. That would block incoming hack attacks in the first instance and is absolutely vital for long-term security.

If you have the likes of Kaspersky or Symantec running in the background, their constant scanning and definition updates should also keep you safe (hopefully).

Was the PC regularly patched from Windows Update? I suspect not...

Unfortunately, the only 100% sure way of getting rid of it now, is to format the HDD and start over with a fresh installation. Make sure your data is backed up first, of course.

Well in that case run Adwcleaner from bleeping computers to clear up your browsers. Also Junkware Removal Tool.

I swear I had to remove that dozens of times from my ex gfs latop. She is somewhat tech savy hell if I know how that kept coming back. I noticed quite a few freeware programs sneak it into the installation progress, gotta be careful what button you press. I even accidentally once installed that McAffee bullshit on my pc because I didn't look at the Adobe reader download page correctly and forgot to take out the tick in the box.

just as a heads up, malwarebytes is a scaremonger.

you can disable notifications from windows about the firewall being turned off and you'll get a vague generic description of 'malware' in the full scan.

can it find malware? sure can! but it can report one virus as 50 entries, most of them harmless on their own.

That is true given the screen shot they are legit but they are much better at it now. they actualy put "tracking cookie" now instead of malware.

Scanned my work PC two weeks ago and it had well over 200. My aunts had over 300 a few years ago. 30 is seriously childsplay! Unless I am mistaking viruses for infected objects. That sounds like something I would do..

in the OP they all start with 'pup' "potentially unwanted program" meaning they'll throw up ads, but none of them are dangerous. if yours was like that, then yeah... they design it to make it look scarier than it is.
