and the analytics tool is great:
www.ampedwireless.com/wifianalytics

I use it on both platforms and it's a cool tool.

the android app is normally one of the first apps I put on a new phone LOL.

Wish they had a windows phone version. it's one of the main things I keep with android for!

Love it though.

it does. :).

Thing is the new InSSIDer version (4.0) isn't free anymore they made it 20 bucks now!

sure they added 802.11ac support, however that's still expensive considering it doeesn't have spectrum and doesn't have capture!

AC1900 is just a hack so people can continue to rape the 2.4Ghz channels with their 40Mhz bandwidth.

802.11ac is 5ghz only. but ac1900 is not. it's called 1900 because it's 1300mbps(3x433mbps) on 5ghz plus 600mbps(3x200mbps) on 2.4ghz. it's a broadcom-only hack.

I don't know if this is a Broadcom based router though. Amped has gone with Realtek for thier gear so this is interesting! I wonder if they switched to Broadcom! That would actually be awesome if they did!!!

for now ac1900 is propriety broadcom stuff, for the advertised maximum theoretical speed to be possible you need broadcom chips on both sides. think dark days of early draft-n.

I hope they will continue supporting their other routers that use the Realtek chips and not be a reapeat of what happened to the Galaxy nexus ( TI OMAP kicked the bucket so sammy couldn't support it anymore so you can't get official updates for android, only custom ROM updates) I wonder if they will keep Realtek or switch completely over to Broadcom?

@remixedcat: ssshhh don't say it loud... you get bashed everywhere for demanding a f*cking update to the gnex3.... just buy a new phone as many people will say on almost every forum...

just jealous bastdards who didn't get the message how ultra nice the nexus experience could be.......

I want a router for my 54MBit's legacy stuff..... it's not that i don't like speed but many of my devices don't support n fully or at all :-
Is there any a.b.g tchernobyl edition? Maximum Radiation on old frequency, as in my area is only one other wifi

Eh? 802.11n can be on 2.4ghz too, it's fully backward compatible with g. It's the same radio so range would be same for the same router. something like Linksys E4200 is very powerful on 2.4ghz. or put a high-gain antenna on a mediocre router.
a is 5ghz.

too many high speed routers do this. '108mb' wifi G routers, anything above n600... bleh.

why advertise higher speed if its not a standard all devices can be compatible with.

Uhhh.. Baum I have no clue what you're on about...

Nobody is bashing anybody....

I already understood why and I'm more frustrated at TI than Samsung. Samsung prolly had no idea TI would pull that crap and I feel the same about amped and I'm in NO WAY MAD AT THEM!!! I LIKE THEM A LOT!

So don't assume I am.
