L313B428 is really kick ass batch :toast:

Temp is not good since I live in tropical ambient (32 Celcius when test).
Cooling is CM Seidon 240M (240mm Radiator with 2 Fans).
I plan to delid when have time to buy vice. :nutkick:

That's awesome. You'll probably not gain much from a delid, based on what you've already got, but who knows. I used the razor method with my 3570k, worked great.

Should gain better temps if nothing else, which is why I did it

. I think that would be a beautiful thing to be rockin' a 5ghz 4670k at some low temps! I used the vice method some the razor scared me top much :laugh:

You might. Delidded temps allowed my 3570k to safely go from 4.7 to 4.8, though never got 4.9 quite stable. Interestingly, going naked really didn't get me much, just about 2-3c cooler. But it was fun

I sooo wanted to hit 5ghz!

Now testing with AIDA64 stability test (I think it near real world usage more than prime95 or linx or IBT).
4.9Ghz Core @ 1.295V with 4.7Ghz NB @ 1.26V crashing after 50minute run.

Now try 1.3Vcore and 1.265VRing with 1.9 Input voltage.

5Ghz without delidded in heavy bench is impossible , voltage jump and temp skyrocket once past 1.35V

You're going to hit a wall somewhere between 4.7 - 5.0 on air or water, you'll see a disproportionate rise in voltage to reach stability as you go up. At that point, the only thing to reach stability and safe temps is LN2 or active cooling (cascade, peltier).

@ OP lower uncore/cache multi, you dont need it to be that high, 41-43x is more then enough and with ideal voltage at the same time.

First, let's see you do it (5Ghz stable w/o HT) Put your money where your post is!

With IB, lots of folks were claiming a 3770k could out-clock a 3570k anyday (rational was mostly binning). I got my 3570k to 4.8Ghz stable on water, which is as good or better than most 3770k's.

I think he indeed got lucky.

Right, did a quick test and yeah i didnt put my money right

I tested 5ghz and it bsod wmea almost by logon, max I tried was 1.315v..., but i didnt lower my ram OC though.

Lowering RAM may help. Dave (cadaveca) talked about the IMC being a weak link. I suspect you have also hit that silicon wall.

With my golden E8600 chip, I did hit 5Ghz and even booted into Windows. As soon as I clicked on anything though it was either a restart or BSOD.

nice OC on that chip. Just one question though - How come allcpumeter shows only 2 cores? did you manage to disable the additional 2 cores in the bios or am i missing something?

If i still had my 4.9Ghz 2500k with me I would have benched it against yours
