StarTech.com, a leading manufacturer of hard-to-find connectivity parts, has announced the availability of two new products designed to make it easier for users to charge multiple mobile devices simultaneously - the 7-Port USB Charging Station (ST7CU35122), and the USB 3.0 Hub (ST4300U3C3). Both devices feature dedicated, power-only USB charge ports which offer a fast, convenient way to keep multiple smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices charged and ready for use.

The Charging Station offers five 1-amp and two 2-amp charge ports to accommodate the range of power requirements of mobile devices. The USB 3.0 Hub features three dedicated USB charge ports - two 1-amp and one 2-amp ports, as well as four standard USB 3.0 ports that enable users to connect additional peripheral devices. Both devices feature a compact design, which makes them portable enough to carry as an accessory.

  • Three dedicated USB charging ports (power only - 2 x 1A, 1 x 2A)
  • Support for USB Battery Charging specification 1.2, including Apple and Samsung Galaxy devices
  • Compact metal chassis offers a portable, multi-device charging solution
  • Wall-mount bracket for out-of-the-way installations

Can't they put some design effort into USB hubs/chargers? I've been looking for one that looks at least half decent to keep on my desk for ages...

I like these a lot more than the generic craptastic hubs claiming USB 3.0 support just barely.
