Did you load all your most recent drivers for MB/Vid Card after reformat?
I'm assuming you've verified the power connector is plugged in otherwise the card wouldn't work I believe...
Try These:
Increase your AGP voltage a little bit, maybe the card is choking for voltage..
Completely uninstall and reinstall ATI drivers...could very easily be a driver issue..

How long did you use the x850pro stock? Does it have stock cooling? Or HIS cooling?

Back when I did the same thing to my ATI x850pro (installed AC cooler), it worked flawlessly...I had to reinstall video drivers, but I noticed a good 20%+ boost in video performance.

And I am assuming by reformatting you mean reinstalling windows. You could reflash your card back to stock and see if your speeds increased. Maybe you have a bad quad pipe on die...which would be why it'd be a pro...I'll check back to see what else you've found out.

Well completely remove all ATI related drivers/software/registry. Reinstall fresh drivers, see if that helps. You may want to reset your CMOS/Bios, I know it wouldn't make sense, but there could be an issue there...worth a shot. What version of Zalman the vf700 or vf900? Are you using RAM heatsinks? You should be able to adjust AGP Bus voltage in your bios, check your MB's manual (best place to start if not familiar with such settings). Also check what size your AGP Aparture is set to...I would recommend 128MB, maybe 256MB if you play more intensive games that are memory hogs.

x850 pro's are partially disabled and downclocked x850xt's...where x850pros have 3 quad pipes (12 pipelines), x850xt's have four quads (16 piplines)..they are in a 4 pipeline arrangement, which is where you get quad. So if a quad doesn't pass for XT service, it's disabled and shipped as a x850 pro since the rest of the chip passed testing, of course they downclock it too, and clock speed stability is another factor in putting that chip on a Pro card and not an XT card. I recommend you read up more on your system components and modifacations you've done in order to help not only yourself, but the rest of us so assisting you is easier. Try what I've suggested above, and read up on your components, terms, how things work so you can understand what you're doing to your system and what effects come of it. Good luck, I'll check back later.

Dude, if ur using Vista, thats the main cause. Take out the battery on the motherboard for like 10 minutes then put it back in and boot up, the bios wont be locked anymore.

Relax man.

Hey lil striker did you have nod anti virus before you did the reformat??

I tried installing that program once and it killed my gaming as well, I think it constantly scans files in the backround as you use them!!!! :( not good when your gaming.

Just a thought

un-install CCC and just use the display driver. Use the same driver you were using before the format. Updated drivers dont always help for older cards.

Now, MAKE SURE your not getting such low FPS because you have HDR enabled. HDR takes a LOT out of your FPS, especially because you only have SM2.0. With my X800, HDR dropped the frames from 100 to 40.
