Corsair, a worldwide leader in high-performance PC gaming hardware, today announced that the award-winning Vengeance K70 mechanical gaming keyboard -- in black aluminum with red backlit keys - is now available with Cherry MX Blue and Brown keyswitches in addition to the original Cherry MX Reds. Similar to all Vengeance gaming keyboards, the latest K70 doesn't miss when it counts due to genuine German-made Cherry MX switches, the most popular and accurate mechanical keyswitches for gamers - with over 5 billion sold.

The sophisticated aesthetics of the refreshed Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard starts with an anodized black aluminum chassis for long-lasting durability and timeless style. Vibrant red backlighting shines through each key, oozing an industrial look capable of complimenting any gamer den. The overall backlighting can be adjusted to four levels of intensity while the lighting for each key can be independently enabled or disabled. The key-by-key lighting customization allows users to highlight just the keys they need to emphasize, such as WASD, and then save the setting directly to the K70's onboard memory.

"We re-evaluated all of the available key switches on the market including new clones of the Cherry MX," said Jason Christian, product manager for gaming keyboards and mice at Corsair. "None could match the consistent performance and reliability across the keyboards like the original German Cherry MX switches."
Vengeance K70 features:
  • Never miss a keystroke: the combination of a 100% anti-ghosted matrix, full n-key rollover and 1000Hz reporting rate provide lightning fast accuracy that you can always count on
  • Media maven Multimedia controls give quick access to volume, skip tracks, play, stop, and pause
  • Useful USB port supports accessories such as a Vengeance gaming headset or mouse
  • Rest your wrists with a removable soft-touch pad that provides extra comfort for lengthy gaming or typing sessions
  • Get that pro look with alternate red-colored, contoured textured keycaps for the WASD keys and 1-6 keycaps for additional customization
  • Available in three different Cherry MX mechanical switch types to suite different gaming and typing preferences:
o Cherry MX Red - for smooth, linear key response for ultra-fast double and triple taps without a tactile "bump" or audible click
o Cherry MX Brown switches - for fast and precise actuation with a light tactile feedback "bump" for comfortable typing and minimal audible click
o Cherry MX Blue switches - for great gaming performance with an assertive tactile feedback and audible click that can be helpful when typing
Pricing, Availability, and Warranty
The new versions Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard will be available in April with a suggested retail price of $129.99 USD backed with a two-year warranty.

I hope they use some better LEDs or something. My K70 had most of the LEDs dying within 3 months and with a quick google, it seems like there are a lot people having the same issues. I could possibly send the K70 for an RMA but since this is the only keyboard I have, it's a real hassle to wait for a few weeks (I assume) to get any replacement.

Tbh, it's not that big of an issue for me since I rarely use the backlights but I could see how a lot of people would be quite dissatisfied by it.

That's a shame about the backlights. I've been eyeing the TKL version of this keyboard for a while [I own a full size ducky that I love] but backlighting is a dealbreaker for me. The Corasir does sure look sweet. How is the feel of the rubber-like keys?

Just normal I guess, nothing to complain about.

I had one of these K70s you speak of. One of the LEDs died within a month of purchase. Corsair rep on here helped me sort it all out though and a new batch of K70s were released and my replacement has been working fine for the last 2 months

I have had my K70 for about 5 months and have had no issues with the LEDs. My computer runs 24/7 and I don't mess with turning the LED's off when not playing games.
I have grown really fond of the keyboard:)

I don't get it. I've had this keyboard for about two months already. I can't tell if this is different, it looks exactly the same as the one I have.

They are just allowing people to get the black one but with an option of either one of the 3 key switches.

they are just announcing the availability of MX Brown and MX Blue with Black housing.
Previously just MX Red.

I also have this keyboard since weeks ago.

I heard that. When I bought K70, I asked about that to the local distro and they said they never receive RMA request regarding LED so far. Maybe it's just in some batch or region.

Maybe for you, I bought the blues since I type more than playing games using a keyboard

I have replaced my silver K70 3 times in the past 8 months due to dead LED lights. An issue like this from a big company like Corsair is unacceptable.

Got my K70 when it first came out in the UK. PC is open 10+ hours a day and the leds are always on at the lowest lighting setting. No issues.

How is this "new" K70 different then? Are they just advertising about the new switches options?

I like my switches to have feedback, otherwise what is the point of mechanical switches?

I thought so in the shop until I bring it home. I don't feel I have any clear advantage in gaming over other keys or even membrane. I switched between mx red and membrane almost everyday and I don't really mind both when I actually use it.

But it's a bit problematic with typing/coding. Isn't tactile aside, keys are very sensitive, leading to accidental press of important button. especially space, F-keys and backspace, in my job sometimes that's really annoying.

Also, even red is still loud, my mic could easily capture the noise and annoy my team mate. Maybe I'll try o-ring later.

Brown is just half ass solution between Black/Red and Blue. It's not bad but you know something is incomplete.

Blue is really really nice for typing.

So yeah, the best is in the eye of beholder.
