I will be using pc for Visual Studio software development, photo editing and personal use like watching movies and internet.
For that it will be enough. Go for the one with the I7 2700k.
You can even slap a high end graphics card in there if you want to and have a great gaming PC as well.

EDIT: But then again reading this:
it is £360 but no warranty. It is 12 month old.
Makes me wonder, if it's just a year old how come no warranty. I bought my PC in December 2012 and I have warranty till December 2015.

I am buying it from somone who bought it 12 months ago. He is saying that parts will have manufacture warranty.

I have asked him to send me the device manager screen shot.

The PC you picked out in post #22 is plenty for your needs and should last for several years. I'm pretty sure you will be impressed with what that PC can do. Hope all goes well.

There is another pc which was in my mind but wasn't sure if i should get it. Its on £280 , difference of £80 as compare to the one in post #22.

Here is the spec.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Intel i5 2500 3.30 quad core
Window 7 Ultimate with MS Office
Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 mother board
Matched Pair Radeon HD4870 graphics cards cross fire
1 TB maxis 7200rpm hard drive
2 sticks of 4GB DDR3 Corsair vengeance 1866mhz
Cool Master 800watt power supply
Wireless Network card
Wireless Microsoft key board and mouse
Samsung Blu-Ray CD-RW Drive
Antec P600 gaming case
Aero Cool fan speed controller
3 Cool Master fans with blue lighting
-------------------------------------------------------------

I think post #22 has slightly better processor, more RAM and 1 TB extra hard disk.

Is it worth paying £80 extra for the one in post #22?

Both of the PC's are more than fine for what you plan on using them for. The £80 difference is only worth it if you have the money but will not benefit you for your intended use. Te I7 2700K would be worth it in the long run as it's a K version so it can be overclocked if needed. The 16gig ram is better than 8 but not necessary and the 1TB extra hard disk is nice but if you don't play a lot of games even 1TB will be enough.

Maybe go for the system in post #30, sell the 2 4870 graphics cards and add a newer card or a SSD.

For what you're wanting to do with your PC either one is fine. The HD 4870 is a bit more powerful than the HD 5450 but it eats a good bit more power too. 150 watts max compared to 20 watts on the other one. If you find you need more performance from the video card then look at getting something more modern even though low end. imo the Corsair PSU is better than the Coolermaster in this one. Does it matter to you at all about the OS? I use Win 7 Ultimate and I love it but there's nothing wrong with Win 8. I have no experience with a Maxis HD but I do with the WD Black and that is a very good HD. I think I would go with the one in post #22 but really it's up to you. I'm sure you're aware that with any computer you may have to replace parts in the future and when you do just pick out decent quality parts even if used.

Thanks alot guys. Learnign alot here about hardware stuff :)

One more question, that guy (post #22) has two similar machines and according to him the only difference is one has a cpu tested to run safely at 4.5ghz by supplier and other 4.2ghz, 4.5ghz comes with 10000rpm drive (as the main system drive). He is charging £10 extra for 4.5ghz machine.

Any big difference?

Does it mean its been overclocked?

Well, really no. He is only saying that one has tested to OC to 4.5 GHz and the other tested and was able to OC to 4.2 GHz. I think either one is going to be shipped to you at it's normal clock speed 3.5 GHz and I haven't seen you desire to dabble in overclocking from your posts so you can consider them to be identical. Save the £10.

Yes both have been overclocked.
One just goes up to 4.5 and the other to 4.2
That doesn't mean it wont go any higher with proper water cooling, but no need for that. The extra £10 is not worth it IMO not even for the 10000 rpm drive.
The I7 2700K with factory settings works @ 3.5 but with turbo goes up to 3.9 GHz.
