I bought a new gpu (7870 ghz) and I installed latest drivers and CCC but there remains a thin black line on the left side on my monitor, which is about 1 mm thin. I set overscan in CCC to zero so my picture should be completely full screen. Monitor is new led Samsung 1080p.

Your post is a little confusing... let's see if I understand correctly.

You got a new GPU and a new monitor.
Now you have a thin black line on the monitors left side.
You set the overscan to be completely full screen... is it or is it not full screen?

Well start by swapping the monitor for the old one, if possible, and see if the line is there.
If it is, it is not the monitor.
Also, do the same with the GPU.

If you can't swap them for some odd reason... try them one another PC, if you have one or a friend's PC.

Also, you need to go to the User CP (control panel) and post your specs.
This may help some in diagnosing your problem for you.

You might have to use the auto-adjustment on your monitor.

It's entirely possible that the lit area of the panel does not stretch to the bezels of the monitor. All three of my ASUS monitors have about a 1mm black border on all sides between where the image ends and the bezel begins.

I think this is my case, now I noticed it has black line even on top as well as on the bottom side, except right side. So why is it that its not lit?

The bezel is larger than the panel to account for manufacturing tolerances. If the panel is off-center it's much better to have an uneven black border than to have some of the lit area covered by the bezel.

I have 2 identical LCD monitors. One of them has no visible line on top and about 3mm thick line on bottom. On second one there's 1mm line on both top and bottom.
