what heat sink do you have on your 3570k? if you are using the stock heat sink that came from Intel, do not OC your CPU until you replace it. It is not adequate for the increased temperatures OC'ing will produce.

as for your video card, download and install MSI Afterburner. That program will allow you to OC your GTX 660ti

Ok so I started it up at that speed and ran a test. I immediately went over tjmax my sensors tripped but my comp didn't shut itself off. I restarted my comp and put it at safe defaults and my temp is now at 96 on bios. Help!

Just .8 lol I didn't want to mess with the village cuz I figured that be the worst thing to do so I just upped the cpu modifier from 34 to 40. My experience with ocing my old gpu taught me off it gets to hot it will shut down. Apparently the cpu doesn't understand this trick :/

No, the CPU does. It will also "throttle" it's self (down clock, opposite of over clock) when it gets too hot.

So you had 96'c in the BIOs with only .8 volts?

Reset your BIOS/UEFI. Check your motherboard manual about how to do that. Also, I hope you have PROPERLY installed the cpu cooler. Lastly, make sure you're actually seeing the temps in centigrade and not Fahrenheit.

It is celsius.I got it fixed. I reset it and moved the fan. I bought it from someone else and it wasn't fully plugged it. I rotated it and plugged it in I'm back down to 40c

Depends on your budget and how far you want to push your cpu... provided it CAN be pushed in the first place. If you want air cooling, then Noctua makes some of the world's finest. They are quiet and perform great. If you want extreme overclocking, then there is custom water cooling. But since ivy bridge is relatively cooler than Haswell, I think you will find most of your OC needs met using any of those "closed loop" AIO units, or, if you can find it, the Swiftech H220 which I use on a VERY hot 4670K. But you should be able to tell if your chip has the frequencies at all, using your stock cooler itself. If you can get to very high oc but is limited ONLY by temps, then invest in a quality water cooler. Otherwise, Any of those Noctuas, or even the cheap CM Hyper 212 Evo will do.

Well I clocked it to 4 ghz easily but the temp couldn't handle it. The evo 212 is 34 bucks. Would it be worth it?

well it can turn itself up to 3.8ghz without any assistance so if it's having problems at those sorts of speeds it probably is

Bring out a tape measure or ruler to get an idea of your space requirements. The CoolerMaster 212 EVO is a great air cooler.

I agree. Best bang for buck out there.
