Hello all,

I recently purchased this guitar in hopes of becoming a legend in the art of metal. However I noticed I sucked just as bad at playing this as I do my two other less expensive guitars. I'm much better at video games. My two HD7770's in crossfire just don't cut it in the games that I play, so I'm looking for a significant upgrade.

I have this awesome guitar just chilling in its fancy little case in the corner of my room, I know its worth enough money to get me a pretty good GPU... I could sell it, but dealing with craigslist weirdos and lowball offers from music shops around town sounds terrible. I'd be selling it to purchase a GPU anyways, so figured why not give it a shot on here? You guys like techie electronics and stuff.

All poor humor aside, this thing absolutely shreds! No, it isn't the $5,000 model Gibson that Zakk himself uses, its the $700 model that mortals like us can wield. It does however, feature the exact pair of active EMG-81/85 pups that Zakk uses, which absolutely shred. Here is a little quote from the guitarcenter website on this guitar.

"The signature model Epiphone Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar provides ultrafat tone, brain-shredding distortion, and visual flash worthy of Ozzy's main axe man. You'll get plenty of crisp attack from the maple top, warm sustain from the mahogany body, and easy playability from its deep-set maple neck. Screaming high-output comes from active EMG-81/85 humbuckers."

More technical specs from the same webpage.

"Mahogany body
Carved maple top with maple veneer
Set hard maple neck
SlimTaper D 1960s-style neck profile
22 frets
Active EMG-81 bridge humbucking pickups
Active EMG-85 neck humbucking pickup
2 volume, 2 tone controls
3-way pickup selector
Gold hardware
LockTone Tune-o-matic/stopbar tailpiece
Grover tuners
"

I have owned this guitar about 3 months now, played maybe 20 times and returned to its case. I paid $700 for it from guitarcenter, also comes with a $100 roadrunner les paul hardcase. Guitar is in like new condition, sounds and looks AMAZING.

What am I looking for in trade?

A new graphics card, a significant upgrade from two crossfired HD7770's. Something relatively close in value to the guitar (at least used value) must have 3gb of memory or more. Perhaps a nice R9 290/290x (no reference coolers), GTX 780 or anything of comparable performance to said cards. Go ahead make me an offer, lets talk.

Man I have to resist temptation... My Strat hasn't been out of it's case in months, I must *force* myself to pass. Ironically, i have a second 290x on it's way to me as I type... and I really don't need a second 290x, lol!

You should keep it. Playing guitar takes years to get results. Anyone can game. Sell your cheap guitars and save up for a GPU. Just saying your making a mistake. That guitar will hold its value. A graphics card will not. You will regret letting it go. On the other hand. I'm tempted to give you my 780

Honestly I just don't have a passion to play music like I used to. Old jam buddies are all on dope and I've long moved on from them. I had money burning a hole in my pocket a few months back and bought it on impulse. Since then my daughter has started school, expensive car repairs and a recent move. Its not in the budget right now to spend cash on PC stuff, but the wife doesn't care if I deal toys for toys lol.

Hot damn, I was looking at some new guitars last night, unfortunately I've already got 6 pretty average ones, but I was looking for a real good acoustic to replace the dreadnought and lindo feng shui I've got gathering dust right now. I'd almost have jumped at the opportunity to grab this off of you, sadly I've got an SG Special that I've hand made and is in dire need of some professional wiring skills and I can't quite afford a shiny new LP. That and postage is a monster from the US with that kind of package.

A million tonnes of luck with your search sir.

I have the same guitar, but in black. Now it is pure deco in the living room, as my fingertips are nowhere able to play anymore! :/

Ok, decided to go ahead and keep the guitar. Ordered my gtx 780 last night, found a little wiggle room in my budget.
