I wish I had seen this earlier as I just gave up my last HD 7950 and all I have left are some HD 7870Ghz edition cards I have to get rid of.

If you'd be interested in an asus 7970 direct cu II I'd ship cont us for 220. I don't know if that's high right now or not but it was an rma replacement for a 7950, only used it around 5 months before buying my current card.

think I got the gpu situation handled
now looking for a SSD at least 120GB for CHEAP don't care if its beat up only needs to last a year or so
still looking for ram might even settle for a 4GB kit with the following timings
9 9 9 24 2T @ 1.5V

Newegg has this one for $210 AR with coupon VISACHECKOUT. You probably can buy a use R9 290x on Ebay for less than $260.
