Im going to get this dc dc atx psu

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...C-ATX-power-supply-with/211500_729581097.html

and want to use my existing hp laptop adapter brick with it, the only problem is the connector for this psu is a 5.5mm*2.5mm connector and my hps brick is a 7.4mm * 5.0mm connector and I'm having troubles finding an appropriate connector to convert it.

Does anyone know where to get these connectors from?

Always best to spend for the proper brick for the laptop, had a oem from some chinese company for a dell and it stopped working in 3 months time.

I would't trust that chinsy pile of garbage to power anything ...
especially coming from Aliexpress ...
it will overstress the power-brick and it WILL take the entire machine out when it inevitability burns out

also bit of common knowalge for you unless your power brick is 36V @5.5A or 24V @ 8.5V you can forget about ever getting that supposed 200W rating out of it try more like 90W with your typical 18v 5A laptop power brick

I'm not too worried about that, my power brick is a 19.5v @ 11.8A genuine hp model.

Plus I wont be using anywhere near the rated 200w, my mini pc currently only has an i5 4570t rated at 35w in it, but I plan on adding a gtx 750 ti or similar low profile card to it.

I would't use it if it was the last psu on earth
few reasons
1. its not PFC and if you have a surge on the input side kiss your system good bye I guarantee whatever little output regulation it has will smoke that token gesture buck-fuse will arc-short before it will blow
2. It does not support haswell's low power states meaning no c6/c7 proc low power states I would't be surpised if sleep mode refused to work either ...
3. the +ATX-p4 connector seems to be split off the molex and most likely its not isolated from the rest of the 12V bad idea ...
I would use this if size is a constraint

hack it up if you need to but don't use that pos you are thinking about trust me It won't end well ..
and if you are really dead set on a single power line input get one from http://www.mini-box.com
the same cadvents apply tho no PFC and no C6/C7 pstate

If you want to save that investment i hope your scalp isnt concrete but a sponge for knowledge.

I agree with OneMoar on this. As i said i had a chinese brick for a dell inspiron xps gen 1 and it quit working totally during a game session. Lucky it didnt take the laptop out. I found a real dell original brick and its been good.

OneMoar and I have warned you, stop trying to cheap out. If you dont heed the warnings you are on your own after that.

my case is so small I literally cannot fit anything else in other than a pico psu or similar.

My case is this http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1744487

What do you suggest?

I see what you mean, I agree its probably not the best.

http://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-160-XT

probably gonna go with this, shame I cant use my existing laptop adapter with it though, as it only takes 12v.

the mini-box unit is worlds better then that no name ali unit
that being said
I would still go with the FSP unit
two reasions
1. future proofing
2. reliability
you can always do a bit of modding to make it neat and fit

@OneMoar is right and honestly, I can tell you that laptop power bricks do melt. I melted an OEM power brick using the same laptop it was supplied with. Who is to say desktop hardware won't do the same?

Listen to the people trying to help you. They're more right than you know.
