CPU Led red

I just finished putting my system together and it boot and everything but im having a problem with the cpu led red light on my asus z87i dexlue and i5 4670k, my psu is a corsair tx 750w.

If i shut down the pc the processor cpu led red light might or might not go solid red and the system won't boot. I say might/might not because its behavior is inconsistent. I've noticed restarted the system, it freezes on the windows loading screen aswell (both windows 8.1 and windows 10 TP). I've checked for bent pins, cpu cooler contact, plugs seated in firmly and reseated the cpu twice.

After the cpu led goes solid red the only fix is powering off the pc and turning off the switch on the psu, afterwhich it boots as normal :\

any ideas?

Try reseating your Memory sticks!

If no help, take them out, one at a time. Or, try a different slot.

Take the hsf off and check the lga pins on the motherboard

Did both suggestions, same issue with 1 stick of ram each tested in each slot and no pins appear to be bent up to now, i honestly am stumped, could it be bad voltages? i left everything at stock so idk

edit: forgot to mention when i do it to post to the desktop temps are 35-40

Either mobo or psu is junk.

probably gona be the psu, doubt the asus board is that terrible, i have a 500w i can switch out and see

edit: it passed the 15min burn in test no errors, not sure if that means anything :\

go into the bios and find the cstate control
and disable c6 and c7
sounds exactly like the psu can't handle the ultra low power states of haswell

Tried turning c states off, same problem. Also switched out the 750w for a working 500w and same thing

Bunk mobo unless if power switch on case is faulty. Plug straight into wall. Use diff power chord

Yea I'm running the latest bios and I can swap the cable and bridge the connection brb

I would't jump the shark on that yet
when the problem is occurring do you hear the relay inside the psu click on ?
there should be a audible "click" about a 1/4 second after you hit the power button
also make sure you are using a full 8 pin power connector and 4 pin may not be sufficient

silly question why usb devices are you using ?
on the outside chance try unplugging everything except for the keyboard and mouse and make sure they are on different sets of ports
also try disabling fast boot

Disabled fast boot and a cm storm quickfire tk keyboard and roccat kone pure mouse, gona plug em.out and see

was wondering about the case so i checked the standoffs, RMA isn't an option in south america lol il probably need to buy a new board but il do a boxtop bench, couldn't hurt

question, could win8.1 cause all this problems? im gona try going back to win7 and see

First thing I would do would be to yank everything out of the system that you don't need for post HDD's all the ram except for one stick any gpu ect ect

make sure EPU/ERP is disabled
also try setting power on by Pci-E/PCI to enabled in the APM sub menu
ASUS boards do some weird things with z87 mine will double post after ac power loss
if the power supply is cut off it power cycles once before commencing a normal boot
@cadaveca says its normal I wonder if its related to your problem

Double boot means bios is resetting before it boots the second time around.

Reset cmos and refresh the bios to something stable.

dave says its normal on asus boards mine does the same thing but only from dead powered off
