Hi everyone!

I just want to inform everyone that there is a plan for a sequel for this good old game. The game is currently on kickstarter and is called Street Tuning Evolution. The developers are the same as for SLRR (Invictus).

For those of you that never heard of or played SLRR; the game is basically a racing game with heavy focus on modifying and tuning cars. The cars are built from parts, which can be individually replaced/upgraded. Unlike games like gran turismo, the parts has to be dismantled directly by the user using a 3d model of the car. The game also has an extensive physics and damage model( weight affects acceleration, damaged parts has to be repaired/replaced etc.). A test track to try out the car is also available. In other words; the perfect game for car tweaking enthusiasts!! The game has an open world setting, which allows for exploring and racing in the streets, with several racing modes like 1/4 mile, street race etc.

As far as I can remember, there was no multiplayer mode in the original game. The kickstarter project has a stretch goal at 320k USD in which they will add multiplayer support.

Awesome! I was toying around with the idea of doing something like that myself, but I'm already busy trying to build another game.

Honestly I didn't even realize that was the old game in that video. They have a very low budget for this game and a high amount of technicality. I figured that was a pre-alpha of the new game, on such a small budget I didn't think that was that bad :p

Carthrottle.com interview:
http://www.carthrottle.com/street-t...to-shake-up-the-entire-field-of-racing-games/

Regarding concerns about this project: This project was initated by the community around SLRR. Invictus was asked, and they agreed to develop this game if the funding is there. Invictus has already made a game like this 10 years ago, and also similar games later on. All the community is asking for is a new version with updated graphics, game engine and multiplayer. This project is to see if there is enough interest for this kind of games (modding, tweaking, testing, racing). Games like Gran Turismo, FM etc are great racing games/simulators, but they don't really let you pick the cars apart in 3D or support mods. All I want to do here, is to inform about this great opportunity.

That is some impressive modeling. I just hate the use of the word tuning and the face that over half the "tuning" in those pictures are things like side skirts and headlights.

Looks good. Really hope that these pictures will spark some more interest for the game.
