Might have to re think that. Vizio uses LG and Panasonic lesser panels. Panasonic was their plasma panel supplier.

Curved monitors are future, I'm glad because I didn't bought something with IPS panel or now new overpriced ROG monitor before these 34" Curved from Samsung, LG, Dell show up.
These screens are best for human visual field, more real than flat or Triple Monitors side by side.
Samsung is 34" nice too.
NVIDIA still didn't launch G-Sync, or price is 300e.
If NVIDIA don't change tactics she will stay choice of rich people only before figure out some things and than they will leave their boat too. They made several bad moves compared to AMD and put their customers in much worse position. Only Free Sync must be compared with G-Sync it's stupid to make conclusion before that.
I would not be surprised to NVIDIA stop customers to enjoy in Free Sync only because possibility to someone pay for G-Sync. NVIDIA politic to force us on specific models with G-Sync is doomed.

IMO Since there has been no independent review monitors out, Freesync can't be compared to G-sync. Reason is only word you have to go on is it works same as G-sync is AMD, that word probably from AMD PR and they are well know to be Idiots that don't know crap about tech they talk about. So til reviewers get samples (AMD said they would in september which its janurary now), I do believe a single word outta AMD that it works as good as they would "claim"

But why would a Freesync monitor not imply it's for gaming? What else would you use Freesync for?

There is no FreeSync monitors. They are Adaptive-Sync certified monitors.

They are intended to be more then just for gaming.

Its VESA behind it and also I really doubt you have any real knowledge about what it is suppose to do.

You do realize that Adaptive sync the STANDARD and Freesync the AMD proprietary tech are not exactly the same right? Even AMD admits that freesync is proprietary that makes use of adaptive sync Standard. AMD Pushed for the standard so they have everything to do with it.

So I have no real knowledge? Let me guess everything you know was from an AMD PR release?

Now that the educational lesson is over. Freesync was an AMD response to G-sync just like how they bought in to raptr after Geforce experience was released.

Strange. Panasonic is big where I live. Pretty sure they are still a big technology player beyond shit batteries too (their lithium ion cells are/were some of the best, BTW)

I'm happy LG is pumping out more 21:9 monitors.

I had a chance to try for a few days the 34UM95 and it is definitely my next tech purchase in 2015. The 21:9 made games really immersive. Some games didn't want to run at 21:9, but they ran fine in other resolutions like 2560x1440 and 1080p. I initially discounted the aspect ratio but it really is a jack of all sizes.

I don't think there are any adaptive sync monitors yet. Cause scale'ers in most were never designed to support doing such a thing only constant locked refresh rate. They had to built a brand new chips to support the tech and use it. AMD did claim some monitors would be able to support it with firmware update which kinda looks like that wasn't the case. The main purpose of it AMD had it in their laptops to reduce power draw and increase battery life. Lowing power draw kinda has no need in desktop monitors as they are pretty energy efficient as it is. I have a Samsung Syncmaster PX2370, its i've had it for probably ~6 years probably longer and it only draw's 25 watts, LCD with LED back-light 60hz 23inch monitor.

I think your miss-understanding it.

The PDF states it clearly under System Power Savings.

Its power savings overall. The GPU side wont be sending unnecessary updates to the monitor and the monitor wont update at higher rates when it doesn't have to. When they work together your monitor and system are using less energy.
