I would have to be my current PC as its the most expensive one even comparing my quad GPU setups from the past (9800GX2, GTX 295, etc).

Its in my specs but the total cost has exceeded 3k:

Processor, motherboard, ram = ~1000
PSU = ~200
Liquid Cooling = ~700
GPU = ~1400
Case = ~250

So yea it a bit excessive honestly and I feel a bit crazy but many of these components will last my 4+years at least from this point so I can justify it a bit :p

Rock Extreme SL8
Few years ago I saved every penny I could for a year and then bought a Rock Extreme SL8, £3250. 2x880GTX, Q6600 (I think), couple of fast HHD's in raid 0, 1920 1200 wuxga 17". Rock went bust and was bought out by a company called Stone which always makes me chuckle. They no longer make these type of laptops. Rock used Clevo motherboards and although more expensive laptops were being sold by other company's, none made laptops as powerful or highly spect, they just had fancy badges on them like Lotus or Ferrari, or was gold plated. Alienware and Dell XPS had nothing to compete with the machines Rock made. The one I had was not the Highest spec available but it was the most I could afford. Real shame Rock are not around any more. They were a little company in a little old English town called Warwick churning out the most powerful mobile computers on the planet (they called them mobile computers, or mobile desktops because they were very heavy and only lasted half an hour away from the wall). I had to have a laptop because my work took me all over the world, I was only home for a few weeks per year and only for a few days at a time. I am no longer in that job so now I have a desktop. Currently running a Asus Rampage V Extreme, 5930K, 3000mhz memory.

First PC: 486 DX2-50. Corrected for inflation it would come to about 5000 euro / 5500 dollar.

My current rigs, although perfectly capable of playing all of my games at maxed settings, have cost no more than 800-1.200 euro. I'd be very surprised to ever spend more than 600-800 euro on a rig ever again.

As a 1 time purchase it would be my previous acer laptop at around 900 euros. It got stolen after 2 years ( luckily the insurance covered it) and then I bought my dell laptop second hand for half the price. For the rest since I have never really bought a complete pc I cannot say how much it has cost me. The pc in my spec was less than 500 euros in total with all except the Ssd 2nd hand and I am proud I managed that :D

My Current PC in the System Specs, have major doubt thinking of spending over $6000 in a PC but after a year it all feel really worth it and the income and fun generated from that investment is returning very nicely.

My current computer, going by either what the parts cost now, or what I paid for them when current price is not available(GPU and monitor), is over $3000

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZKknFT

paid $725 for the GPU and the monitor sold new for around the $1200 mark, I paid $750 for it.

The rig in my specs was $4900 odd. Sometime I loose track of what I buy. I do like having half decent components and the upgrade itch gets me from time to time. The price was including keyboard, headset, mouse etc. :)

The most expensive pc or laptop for me was my last gaming laptop, a Alienware m18x r2 that I bought used for 1700. I upgraded the cpu to a 3920xm that I bought for $405 on ebay. Plus I added some extra hard drives for extra storage, the HDs might have cost me around $200.

I sold it in parts to fund my current gaming laptop in my system specs, that one I just bought for 1600. Its about 40% faster and 6lbs lighter. I have not sent any money yet on the new laptop. I dont need too yet. But I want to get a 4900qm and 2 1tb msata SSDs later on.

Either my X58 920 build with Sli GTX260 C216s or my current build because of the ~$500-$600 in just the water cooling alone.

Considering some of the prices I paid, I'm questioning whether I did actually spend over $3000 on my build, not whether it is just worth over $3000. I'm doing this breakdown for myself really :D

2x Xeon X5690 @ 3.90 GHz processors ($970 bundle)
2x Thermaltake Frio coolers ($970 bundle)
EVGA Classified SR-2 motherboard ($970 bundle)
48 GB Patriot G2.Series DDR3-1600 RAM ($240)
2x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 graphics cards ($550 and $400)
Samsung 840 Evo 1 TB SSD ($620)
Intel 320 Series 120 GB SSD ($80)
Adata 32 GB SSD ($20)
2x Seagate Barracuda 3 TB HDDs ($130 each)
Western Digital Green 2 TB HDD ($100)
Samsung Spinpoint 1.5 TB HDD (free review sample)
Sound Blaster Zx sound card ($140)
Corsair 800D chassis ($970 bundle)
BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro 10 1200w PSU (free review sample)
No optical drive :cool:
A bunch of Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-14 1450 RPM fans ($100)
A bunch of Bitfenix Spectre Pro red LED fans ($80)

$3560o_Oo_O

I think I have a problem:twitch:

I forgot to mention the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 580 SOC, also a free review sample.
