Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd is pleased to announce that prototypes of the latest O Series Chassis and Desk Chassis will be on display at CeBIT 2015. Lian Li invites all to get a sneak peak at its booth (Hall 17, D26) of the latest editions of the some of the most talked about chassis lines.

Combining the symbiotic relationship of desks and computer cases, the DK-01 and DK-02 were the first desk chassis to be brought to the mainstream market. Now, almost a year after their initial release, Lian Li will be debuting a desk chassis prototype, DK-Q2, that is a result of user feedback. Major updates include a removable motherboard tray, new leg design, and a slimmer body.

The O Series was initially launched in 2014 featuring a combination of Lian Li's traditional high-end aluminum construction with an oversized tempered glass window, and allowed DIY builders to show off their hardware creations. The newest addition to the O Series, PC-O8, which is to be previewed at CeBIT 2015, follows the series' philosophy, but does so in a bigger and more expansive form factor.

With a history of eye-catching unveilings at CeBIT, Lian Li will once again prove itself an industry leader and innovator without sacrificing product quality. Attendees will be able to see the engineering expertise of Lian Li in meeting the latest trends and market demands.

I guess the table was popular enough to get a reboot. I am not putting my PC in it though :p. Second case looks intriguing for people with lots of storage I suppose.

I actually really like both of the designs, and appreciate the idea of incorporating a solid use of space into a practical piece of furniture, but personally just don't have a use for either.

I am also mostly amused that they still have an ATI prop card lying around.

The PC-O8 looks amazing and would absolutely buy, but based on Lian Li's previous O series chassis, it will probably be priced >$250

Unpopular opinion here - i really like the looks of HD5800 series to this day. One of the more attractive reference designs so far.

/offtopic: What does "prop" mean as a word?

In this case it means something real or fabricated and used for show i.e. a stage prop in a movie. It's funny because there hasn't been an ATI card for years. AMD bought them out.

I do like the look of the PC-O8.. I'll be looking for a new desktop chassis within a few months. Might keep this in the back of my mind, if the price is right.

It won't be...they never are. The thing about Lian-Li is they always seem to be ahead of their time with styling/functionality or materials, but you pay dearly for it because they don't produce them on as large scale. I really do put them on the same 'special project' level as a lot of Noctua coolers (which seem to aim for great performance at a variety of odd but short heights), which again are great...but you definitely pay a premium for them. If you don't 'need' a certain design for specific reasons, there are better and/or cheaper options for both by many other companies.

Back when I built my htpc, my current case was literally the only one of it's type/size that would fit a full-height card/power supply/decent height cooler (granted also a special-use design at the time), as well as using 120mm side fans (granted to this day I will never understand why their cases often don't include dust filters). Now you can buy great small cases (and low-profile hsfs) with odd-but-functional designs that fit all that criteria from other companies for much cheaper and/or with better use of space (for longer video cards or a smaller profile without sacrificing much performance). I don't doubt similar designs to these will be copied and sold by larger or more generic brands as well. I certainly could see a 'desk case' (or coffee table/shelf case) taking off if someone were to IKEA-tize it without making too many concessions and/or adding a couple tweaks to appeal to a broader audience (especially at a lower price).

Desk looks nice. Much more functional than 3 released earlier. What baffles me is why Lian-Li persist with this nonsense. There is one (and only) slime OD. It's not possible to mount for example fan controller or 5.25" reservoir for liquid cooling which are usually 2x5.25".

New Deskcase would look great in the room in tandem with classic wooden desk. Early DK series was weird. This one is interesting, but will wait if there is bigger model. They say about user feedback - well certainly they ignored me. No 5.25" slots which is deal breaker for me sadly...
