M.2 on MSI X99s Gaming 7

How do I connect my SSD to the M.2 spot on the mobo? Neither the mobo or the SSD came with a cord that will fit in the m.2 slot. It looks weird I've never seen a connection like it before. You would think the mobo would have came with a cord but I don't see one. Am I just crazy or do I need to just buy a special cord to do this?

Is this m.2 thing not meant for regular ssd's like the Samsung 850 pro?

Nope not for regular SSD; you need to buy special version that uses that port.
