HDD win7&8 coma!

Good morning and good evening Techpowerup members i have struggled with this hdd 100% usage problem for a long time and i have tried to stopping services changing software nothing seems to help maybe i'm missing something. Thank you all in advance!

100% at startup, installing software, sometimes while playing.

Underclock your processor?

WinRAR is a disk heavy operation, no wonder it's maxed out in that image.

Also, no idea how underclocking a processor will help?

If the rest of the computer runs slow enough his hard drive won't be the bottleneck

Yeah i know but sometimes its 100 when i install skype , installing windows updates hhd in coma

that's not normal.

Go to charms bar and press search, then type view local services.
Once here, stop and disable BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service). Also, set windows update checks to manual.

You can also try disabling Superfetch in services.msc

Thx but updates already at manual and disabling services helps until i restart pc :confused:

although they are disabled.

You can find registry fixes on google to permanently disable Superfetch.

Couldn't this just be a AV thing were you have it on a deep scan ( various names for it with some AV's ) detail their fore each and every file is scanned. Like defaults normally are to check headers of the files maybe you changed yours to check the whole file their fore taking a long time to scan each file.

Nope i have used 5 different AVs and changed settings but still same story.

so you have 5 AV's running at one time ?. Most good AV programs have a setting for some kind of deep scan regardless which one(s) you tried.

Have you tried disabling the AV(s) to see if it helps ?.

i have tried 5 different AV's. Yeah i changed the settings no help there.

It all depends on which antivirus/antimalware program you use, tbh.

Not all slow the system down, and some are a good deal better than Defender.

I would check your smart with crystal disk or with victoria ..... make sure you dont have a ton of ecc errors and such if so your drive is dying.
