7970 to 7990 worthy upgrade?

Been offered to swap out my 7970 GHz for a 7990 plus £100 cash.

Obviously they are 3gb per core not a 6gb card.

Is it really worth it or save cash for a dx12 card as the 7970 is keeping up ATM.

At this point in time, I think I would definitely hold off on that idea and wait for a single more powerful card. While I haven't had all the terrible CFX issues as some, it's just a better idea to go single card, especially since your 7970 is getting a little old. (no hate on the card, I had a 7970 and then 2 in CFX, and they worked well at that)

With the new AMD cards about to show their faces, hang on just a little bit longer

No. Unlike Manofthem I experienced crossfire issues though it only really affected DX9 games. Even outside of that, the 7990 is not the experience you would hope it to be. Stick with your trusty 7970 and bask in it's greatness for now. Once the new cards release the market will adjust and better options will be available. Looking forward to DX12, the Tahiti architecture of the 7970 is getting too old.

Thanks for your replies guys, guess I will hold off on the 7990 then.

I will let you know about the 7970 if I decide once the new and cards come out.
