ASUS showcased three of its premium GeForce GTX 980 Ti based graphics card offerings, apart from the GTX 980 Ti STRIX that's already in the market. These include the Republic of Gamers (ROG) branded GTX 980 Ti MATRIX, its ASUS 20th Anniversary commemorative Gold Edition variant with slightly higher clocks; and the liquid-cooling ready air-cooled GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum.

The GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum features a dual-fan air-cooling solution that combines a liquid-cooling channel, letting you improve its cooling performance. This card features the shortest PCB among all of ASUS' GTX 980 Ti offerings. Next up, is the GTX 980 Ti MATRIX. This Bonafide ROG-branded product, with its matte red+black color-scheme, a meatier dual-fan DirectCU II cooler than the one featured on the STRIX, a stronger VRM, and the ROG badging, should make it appeal to the ROG (premium gamer-overclocker) crowd. Expect this card to ship with a >20% factory OC. A slightly faster, limited-edition variant of this card, with its gold cooler shroud, will also be available. The three cards should be launched over the next few weeks.

I was at the event, the cards aren't due in the next few weeks. The Matrix Platinum is for August, Gold Limited Edition in September. I believe the Poseidon is due this month though.

If I fail to save enough money for TITAN X SC I will probably to buy Matrix Gold.
They say fastest GTX980Ti, or maybe even Poseidon is better option but I can't resist to highest clock even if I need to hold under Air. Anyway for both of them I would need pump/res and radiator...
I'm glad because ASUS decide to repeat same with GTX980Ti. People ask from them to to increase clock on premium models and they done that. Now they should be rewarded.
Only is problem because less CUDA cores really hurt me. I would rather choose card with same performance as TITAN X SC, with all CUDA cores than 5% stronger with less number of CUDA. :)

And many people try to explain that K|NGP|N cards are not for gamers and like I hear gamers could have problem because that some card with special needs, people even want to bury EVGA with recommendation to sell card without cooler, I hope they will compensate loss from people who decide to buy other brand because of that. They recommend for gaming is better Classified, but because is Classified slower than any custom card on market there are much better options.
But cards for LN2, binned chips should work fantastic on ambient temps on fabric clock and maybe little more but they should shine under LN2. Not card useless on ambient temps except in deep minus. Nobody ever made such things. And off course everything with special purpose should be marked with Attention how people should use.
Example this model is not good for gaming on ambient temps.

Ugly card is ugly. All of them. ASUS had a better looking cards with the 700 series, I think it was the dual GTX 760.

IMO

this design looks much better

and yet some Ti exceed Titan X ... what's the point of "less cuda core hurts you" ? it's not like a Titan X is worth the overprice over a 980Ti... (unless you have the money and want to spend on it ... btu as you say you are saving for it... the Ti will be your savior)

altho ... lucky who get a price close to MSRP ... for me i don't believe in MSRP anymore ... as a 980 is at the price of a 980Ti and a 980Ti is closer to the MSRP of a Titan X than the Titan X itself ...

Definitely TITAN X not worth price difference but TITAN X SC is my first tip. If card OC only 60MHz more that's full GM200 overclocked 200MHz such speed very hard some GTX980Ti can achieve for gaming.
