Well..that just sucks man.

Have you verified with GART that you're running AGP 8x? There should be no reason that it's running at 4x, but it's worth a look.
Also, what did you set your AGP Aparture size to in your bios? A change in size shouldn't kill your performance like it is, but if you give too much and you only have 1 gig of memory, y ou could be overloading.

How hot is that card getting now?

It could be the P/S...just getting tired and not pumping out the juice like it once did...that card shouldn't suck too much more power for the extra quad...but maybe that tipped the scales.

What score do you get in Aquamark? 3dMark 05? 06?

i know mate im about to cry ! yes im running agp8x, i went to bois but couldnt find agp aparture size, on idle in autumn its 35 load it hits 50 max, i scored 6000 in 3d mark 05, and im not sure if thats before i flashed it or not, and this was a while back 6-8months ago:rockout:

EDIT = WENT INTO BIOS FOR 2ND LOOK AND THE CLOSEST THING I SAW TO AGP APARTURE WAS AGP CLOCK = 66 ?

Leave the AGP clock at 66, that's the BUS Speed, also leave the PCI bus set to 33.33, I've read that increasing AGP Bus can improve performance, but it's touch and go.
What versions of Drivers have you tried? Try 6.9 and/or 6.12's, they performed best for my x850pro @ xt-pe+.
Something's limiting you...this is tough issue for sure! I just don't wanna see you throw in the towel. Maybe try reflashing your BIOS to stock...make sure no ATI drivers are loaded...then load ATI Drivers see what you get..if it's the same, maybe your Quad of Pipes should stay disabled since there is hindering performance. If it's even slower, then uninstall all ATI drivers, reflash to 16 pipes.

When you install Cat drivers, if you do instal CCC, just change the AI settings, try Normal, then High. I noticed a small performance bump when setting to High on my x850. Let me know if that changes anthing.
Also before you do any of that, run Aquamark and post your score...I'll see how close it is to my old PC's (currently using ATM). It will also give us a good idea of where you're at, set the baseline, and is a quick test so it won't take too long to do and post your score.

Did you use your original bios to reflash to stock? That should have set it back to 12 pipes.

So when you play CS Source online it doesn't drop to 25fps?
Have you been able to try those drivers? Any new drivers for that MB out there?

Well Bots take up more cpu power, and the more cpu power taken the less bandwidth the vid card gets. For a demo, open ATITool's fuzzy cube, note your FPS, then open ORTHOS, run it and click back on the fuzzy cube. I'd say your proc's to blame for some of the performance drop.

Use your stock bios if you backed it up...
Is your memory in dual channel mode? It probably is, and it doesn't make a big difference that I've seen aside from some better bench results and slightly snappier response.

Did you record your FPS before you had this issue using 9 bots on that map?

bots stress the cpu ALOT in css thats why your getting 25fps with bots try lowering the number of bots you would get more fps its not your card im not sure why your getting lower fps

css is very cpu dependent

i did video stress test with my comp i used to get 181 fps in stress test since i did a dual boot (vista and xp) i get 167fps no matter what i do it wont go back to 181fps on xp css can be very random

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
CSS and DoD: S have both had updates in the last few months that reduce performance quite a bit.

Try changing audio settings as well, you seem to be on onboard audio. I beleieve CSS has a 'high quality audio" option, unticking that is a good idea.

Also, whats with CSS and DoD: S players ranting about low FPS? isnt 70 enough for you?

I'm not quite clear, but didnt you flash the card up and wondered why there was no FPS Increase? Odds are its bottlenecked by your system, you have an SiS motherboard chipset (cheap and slow) and a pentium 4 (cheap, HOT, slow).

Odds are, your problem isnt video related. However you're testing your FPS, try it at a few different resolutions, so we can determine if its CPU or video bound.

Orthos is a CPU stress, it's called Orthos Prime, a good utility for overclockers.

As they stated, bots use CPU power, the more cpu power used, the less bandwidth alloted for the video card, since the CPU has priority.
And since you have an older CPU it will stress your CPU out more an sort of "bog" it down as compared to a newer processor such as the Core2 series.

Check the link in my sig for some more info, it may help clear some things up!
