Anyone have this game that wants to do some multi? Decent group of people still playing this title. It still is the best strategic FPS out there.

WOW many moons ago, don't even know if i have the DVD's still lol. MIGHT even have a cd with tons of maps on it still ( Maybe ), me and some one else used to play it years ago we were always laughing our asses of as they would complain about waiting for us when they died lol.

EDIT: i just had a dig around and actually found it, how ever i don't to play it but if some one want's they can have it for postage.

Although it's not the gold version and if i have the disk for that i have no idea were that is lol.

You can get the gold version off of Steam. Also remember to get Iron Wrath, which was an official expansion released for free. I only played it offline and still do every now and then. Amazing game with no real replacement. One of the last tactical shooters, but still fun to play.

Yes, the steam version works great and everything on multi functions perfectly. Sad how not a lot of people these days don't have the patience for tactical shooters. Everyone wants COD or Battlefield.

Not the reason for me, i played that game for years how ever the AI were placed in a spot and did not move for the most part.

Other wise you can blame UBI for that screwing the whole RvS and Ghost Recon scenes up, they the ones who said they were making the next improved but they screwed that. Lets face it there is less money in it for UBI to make such games that you can mod \ make maps \ have private coop servers.

In fact Far Cry 2\3\4 have been closer to what people wanted then what came after Ghost Recon, but they fail on those key parts what made RvS and GR so great. Now if the community could get together and UBI to allow them FC4 could be what so many wanted but again UBI don't want this they want games released asap as often as possible.

Which is why i still play Arma 3 sure it's not OFP but it's one of few ( understatement ) that's kept so close to what made it so great to begin with.

So yes blame UBI for screwing over all those promised loyal GR fans in the ass many years ago.

Have it all on disc with all the expansions(well Iron Wrath was digital) I had them all installed but I formatted recently. I may put it back on again. I totally agree with your sentiments. This was the last real tactical shooter.

I have been playing through the single player missions and i forgot how hard they are! I am playing on veteran which is fairly tough. I use the supplied mission plans so a lot of times my teammaters on the other teams will die. I sometimes restart if too many of them die. I always restart if Ding Chavez dies because he is definitely the best. Problem is now that I have played through 10 missions I only have 4 of the original members left. The rest are "assault member 23" or something like that and those guys suck! So now the missions are even harder because "assault member 23" can not aim for crap!

I remember playing the first RB6 on dial up. I would get off work about 1 am and play until the sun came up. Now I really want to play again. I think I will get Raven Shield Gold on Steam after work today. Easy Rhino I will drop you a pm when I get it all set up.

Let me know your steam name. All you will need to play online is a ubi account and then you can log right in.

Rainbow Six was my first real online multiplayer game I played. Dialup....oh the memories.

Sort of considering that, I want a digital copy of Raven Shield, but I really don't like Uplay. Origin, Steam or DRM free would have been great.

Sadly GRAW 1/2 were removed from Steam, as I want a digital copy of those. They weren't like the original GR, but they tried to be as tactical/realistic as they could. They were actually different games from the console versions made more realistic and tactical for the PC player base whereas the consoles got the more casual versions.

Curious how did you guys manage to fix the flickering screen with Windows 10? I used some solution on steam forums but it gives a little bit input lag.
