Does the i7-5960x have sse4.1 ?

hi guys, does anyone have this processor, and most importantly know if it has the sse4.1 instructions on it
according to http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-920-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5960X it hasn't,
whereas i've seen a cpu-z picture that says it does have that set (can't find the pic)

also i find it hard to believe that the i7 920 i have has 25,599.99 MB/s bandwidth vs 6,400 MB/s on the i7 5960x
according to the above pages info (is that place even believable?)

i have looked all over, before thinking of making this thread, and thought i'd ask the community who's members might have the cpu, i've looked on intel's site to no avail

now as my username suggests i'm into emulation, especially playstation 2, of which i still own the console and many different games, before anyone panics and says it's illegal to do,

anyways that emulator uses sse4.1 in one of it's plugins,

i know the i7 5960x is expensive but i have my heart set on buying one

any help is appreciated

I would compare using ark.intel.com instead since we're talking about comparing Intel CPUs.

Edit: If you don't mind me asking, why do you want an extreme edition CPU? The only thing that's extreme about it is the price unless there is a particular task you're going to do that can utilize 16 threads (which aren't many.)

If you are using PCSX2 then it will auto default to AVX or AVX2 rather than SSE4.1 and as far as i remember AVX/2 is better.

PCSX2 is also limited to how many cores it can use so anything over 3 cores is useless and you have to use the MTVU hack to make use of the 3rd core.

Still rocking an I5 2550k with a slight overclock and have no issues with most of the ps2 games i emulate and some i run at 4 or 5x native res

Not only is that sentence incredibly confusing, it doesn't really explain how a 16t monster is needed. I really dislike people buying the most expensive thing simply because they can. It's the reason why Intel and NVidia feels that they can charge a thousand dollars for a single product, it's absurd.

I don't doubt you need an upgrade, I have reservations about needing the 5960x though. If you're gaming, you want fewer cores that are clocked higher not more cores that are clocked lower. My point is that it's insane to spend a ton of money to get worse performance than something cheaper for what you're using the machine for. More cores only has a handful of tangible uses and gaming isn't one of them. So before you're ready to throw your money out the window, I seriously suggest you consider your actual needs are before just buying the most expensive thing.

let me reiterate, i'm after a powerful monster under the hood ,

it's been over 5 years since my last build and i've been itching to get a extreme processor ever since, from a 980x to a 990x, then the 2011 processor came out last year and i was tempted then ,but i didn't get one for one reason or another, then as everyone knows they changed the socket, now it seems they won't be doing any extreme processors, so if i find out the 5960x has all what i want i'm going to get one

All Intel Core i* series cpu's have up to SSE4.2 you have to go back to core 2 which had SSE4

I think CPU-Z actually detects supported instructions and is not tied to a preconfigured database.

i know lol, it's for more than a ps2 emu though, and in tech terms ye it's old technology

i.m 43 sunshine, not 4, of-cause i know that,

as said the emulator uses 4.1, and some emu's won't run properly if the cpu doesn't have certain instructions, that's why i asked owners of the cpu to comment

i'm not a millionaire, just someone who has his heart set on that processor and it's raw power
i also know that pscsx2 wont need all those cores or use them any time soon,

the processor will have numerous uses for me, not just for gaming

as an LGA 2011 owner - there are cheaper ways of getting a 'monster under the hood' without having to go the way of an extreme processor. I have no doubt that even my own 3930k comes close to that 5960X and the difference in performance is probably marginal at best.
