Is it worth it to pay to remove tiny dust from monitor ?

I'm wondering since on my 27" monitor, there is a small dust which covers around 5 pixels, and is close to the middle, is it worth it to pay to remove this tiny bit ?



The dust is noticeable at bright screen like looking at the movies or something, and kinda is annoying for there to be.



The reason I'm asking this is because I'm looking for opinions of what would you guys do , pay to get this removed or deal with it ?



Also any methods of removing (or trying) to remove the dust without opening monitor ?

but I suppose does it ruin the viewing experience or not, personally I wouldn't bother, you'll get used to it and not see it in time

If under warranty check to see if they will replace it as no hair \ dirt is supposed to be able to get in there in the first place.

You could check on youtube see if their is any video's of that screen and if anyone else had to take it apart.

If you are yourself careful enough, you can remove the dust yourself and make the monitor good as new. The sections through which dust can enter are (between the backlight and panel) and between (the panel and front window, if any). Both the sections can be taken apart, just that you have to be careful since you are working with glass. Also, slapping the monitor on the back side often causes the dirt to fall down and eventually disappear(stays on the bottom metal part of the screen. If you can, post a photo of the problem here.

I have been looking through internet and could not find anything on how to remove the dust, any suggestions ?

If it is new, return it to the store; if it is not brand new, contact the manufacturer.

LCD panels are not serviceable. You could buy a replacement panel (e.g. Screen Country) and replace the panel yourself. It would cost less than buying a whole new monitor but if this monitor is really old, you might as well just get a new one.

It is not worth it trying to fix a panel yourself, it is too easy to damage an LCD panel and it is not serviceable. I have an tiny spot on my LCD already but I can ignore it.

There are old tricks for removing dead pixel that may work like using a pen cover with a cloth and pressing on the black dot. But that can cause damage. I tried that on my monitor with the dust inside it does not work.

Like others have said it send it back to asus to see what they can do. I don't have much hope for asus service from my experience you may have to pay for the fix.

Well I am wondering.

I already contacted ASUS they told me of a company who can replace the screen, I just wonder is it worth it to pay them, and more importantly if I can fix it myself without opening it , I don't need the dust to get out of my monitor, just not stay in the center of it, atleast to put it in a corner or somewhere.

Only you can answer if it is worth it. How much is it bugging you and how much are you willing to spend to fix it - if it can be fixed.

I don't see how you can fix it without opening it. You could try using a suitably equipped air compressor and hope to blow the dust out but I suspect you will just pack it in tighter.

You could take it to a shop and just ask them if it can be fixed and then for how much. If they agree to fix it, they are on the hook if they mess it up more.

Slap on the back of the monitor and see if the piece of dirt starts falling down. Else, it has to be taken apart. If you are careful enough, you can do it yourself.

I fail to see how dust got "inside" the LCD panel. I've taken raw panels apart before, with the way they are constructed there's no way dust got in there by itself.

If it is dust. It could be a tiny gnat or midge that worked its way in. Or it could have been some debris left over during assembly that worked it way to the center, or was just noticed.
