I finally got my new machine put together and running. Everything is running quite nicely, several games running 25% or more faster.
This is my first intel rig, and I would like some recommendations for air coolers,(I have no desire for water cooling just yet). The only after market cooler I've used is the cooler master 212 that I used on my amd builds.
My budget is up to $100, so some ideas on a good cooler would be great. my new specs are in my profile. thanks in advance.

As mentioned...this! That cooler would be sufficient for stock, and even allows room for a mild overclock if desired. If you are not planning to overclock, there is no need for a $100 budget.

Im sorry. I should have noted that both of my 212 evos are still in use in the amd machines. Both of them are excellent coolers, but they are 5 and 6 years old, so I was trying to find out if there were anything new and better, as I would like to mildly overclock at sometime. Using the stock cooler I seem to idle at about 36 in a 72 degree farenhiet room, and after gaming for an hour it gets up to 68 c at the highest.

This.

I use this exact set up with 2 fet flo fans.

212 EVO is perfectly fine if your not lookin to spend alot.

I used the 212 EVO on my AMD build as well (FX 8350)

I just recently got my i5 4690k... Running @ 4.2ghz @ 1.14V

Idle temps are 35-40c - gaming load = 50-55c - Prime Small FFTS = 80ish Celcius, which is still a very acceptable temp especially running prime which is an unrealistic amount of load.

So in Short, the 212 EVO will do what you need and allow a mild OC.

Yeah one of either the 212EVO or 212X will probably do quite fine. I have my delidded 4790k under a 212EVO in my brothers rig ATM, runs at 4.6GHz(1.2v) at 50-60 in games and mid 80s in stress tests with a pretty relaxed fan profile. And it's pretty quiet too. The 212X is just a newer version of the 212EVO, sometimes it has been a bit cheaper.

I just installed a Cryorig H5 Ultimate in a system very close to yours and am very happy with it. It's quiet, well under your budget and offers plenty of overhead for your mild overclock.

Benchmark Scores well I've fried a 775' P4 12 years ago, that counts?
as far as I have read, and understood OP has other machines {amd machines} with 212evo, he maight be looking for an a alternative to replace stock cooler for a intel rig,

So if I'm ok about the post,

my humble opinions:

Coolermaster Evo 212,

Thermaltake contact 39, any Frio Cooler, Nic series are pretty cheap and entry level, but with some decent fans can perform pretty well,

more info:
Thermaltake air coolers

also if you can you are welcome to watercooling universe, you always can try AIO, there is people that says that watercooling must be for overclockers, that’s a lie….

take a watch.. AIO are interesting options…

Thermaltake AIO [All in One, watercooling...]

I've just transitioned from AMD to Intel and still use the same heatsink - my trusty Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo.
Temps are very good, but then again, I do have seven case fans with well thought out fan placement (four intake, three exhaust, strategically placed) and payed attention to my cable management to maximise airflow.

for the price, you simply cant beat the EVO, If you look further, go for Noctua, Palimatech or Pantek

$15 after rebate thats not bad but sad fact is folks there are better entry level coolers for less than the Evo when it at regular MSRP. Its not the go to cooler anymore. Unless as Jetster noted above its at a heavy discount. Just be prepared to wait for said discount.

I finally made up my mind and to day I should receive my new ZALMAN CNPS9900ALED. thanks everyone for your imput and advise. Both of my evos are in use I'm my other 2 machines ,and after reading reviews and recommendations, I chose to go with the Zalman. It seems to cool as much as I require, and being all copper had the added benefit of looking nice in my new case. thanks again everyone.

You won't be disappointed! It's basically the same as mine, the only real difference is my copper is nickel-coated, which probably makes zero difference. It's a great design and mine cools phenomenally! I didn't mind paying the price at all.
